I think you can use Evolution in such a network. Thunderbird is not the
only email client, after all. Evolution has provision to use a

POP3 communication i want to know how to enable it. The port used 4 SMTP
is 25 and that for POP3 is 10. I enabled it in /etc/squid/squid.conf as a
safe port. But still it is not working

I forgot to mention one thing. The solution doesn't mention unblocking
IMAP. Many new mail servers- notably Gmail, uses IMAP. You may want to
unblock that as well.

Agreed! But ironically, Google is also one of the very few email
providers that support mail clients using mail protocols - Yahoo, sify
and rediff didn't do
