Malkiat, I first of all the answer to your query. The 'issue' file you're editing is dynamically edited during boot time. So if you want a customized message you edit issue in your rc.local file. Write the folliwing in your /etc/rc.local echo /etc/issue.net echo your message /etc/issue.net

i've never used Mandrake but the procedure could work for it. the issue file displays messages on the local screen whereas the issue.net file displays messages to someone logging remotely. now, every reboot changes the contets... the reason could be that at every reboot some commands are
