yesterday, i tried to upgrade my os2008.11 (release) to dev repository,
but it failed due to filesystem full during the install phase. After
booting in single-user, i am able to delete the zfs dataset relatred to
the new incomplete BE, because beadm failed when there is no space.

Boot on your CD and use zpool import and zfs destroy instead of beadm
destroy.

how do you explain that 3.8G isn't sufficient?
