Yes orchid seeds as they lack their own food, they need food from secondary
sources so they need fungi.
1. Fungi is very much specific of the habitat where they grow.
2. Orchid is very much specific of the fungi they link with and ofcourse
they are specific to habitat too.
So orchids are kind of more picky in choosing where to grow and hence they
are not so common in occurence in comparision to other plants. So to cope
with this issue, orchids produces millions of seeds in each capsule but the
survival rate is very low in wild. But please remember one plant if
produces 1 fruit in an year and 1 fruit gives millions of seeds and only 5
survives and grow to adult.... ITS PERFECTLY FINE FOR ORCHIDS, as there is
an increase in population and that is what each species in the world
wants.....TO REPRODUCE !!!
