I am trying to understand if there is variability of characters within this species. Going by JCB Herbarium <http://florakarnataka.ces.iisc.ac.in/hjcb2/herbsheet.php?id=1843&cat=1>, the key mentions the presence of glands on the rachis, at the base of all pairs of pinnae. I checked a few of the leaves to confirm where the glands were present and they were all consistent with one at the base and either 2 - 3 at the top most pinnae. Also, the presence and absence of spines is the pedicel - is that also a variable character?
