This book is a valuable field guide for identifying forest trees in the
Western and Eastern Ghats, Deccan Plateau and Mangroves in Southern India.

Valuable for Wildlifers, Naturalists, Birdwatchers, Trekkers, Nature
lovers, Foresters, Researchers and as an Afforestation guide.
   3.

This book is brought out after a gap of more than a century after
   Bourdillon's – The Forest Trees of Travancore(1908)
   4.

Contains description of 988 trees belonging to 87 families.
   5.

 In Neginhal's own words -

Forest Trees are fast disappearing ! It is high time we acquaint ourselves
with these vanishing, ecologically fragile Trees and to appreciate their
roles in keeping the rivers flowing, sustaining the reservoirs, recharging
of lakes and other aquifers, preserving the rich and varied biodiversity
and healthy environs on which our own survival pivots !

the Western and Eastern Ghats, Deccan Plateau and Mangroves in Southern
India.
2.

Valuable for Wildlifers, Naturalists, Birdwatchers, Trekkers, Nature
lovers, Foresters, Researchers and as an Afforestation guide.
3.

This book is brought out after a gap of more than a century after
Bourdillon's – The Forest Trees of Travancore(1908)
4.

Contains description of 988 trees belonging to 87 families.
5.

Has 610 pages, 255 colour photos and 193 line drawings describing

  In Neginhal's own words -

Forest Trees are fast disappearing ! It is high time we acquaint
ourselves with these vanishing, ecologically fragile Trees and to
appreciate their roles in keeping the rivers flowing, sustaining the
reservoirs, recharging of lakes and other aquifers, preserving the rich and
varied biodiversity and healthy environs on which our own survival pivots !

Whatever numbers are displayed at About this
