I think different. Some exotics escape from cultivation into wild and over
a period of time spread in large areas. Than they appear as if they are our
own wild plants. I think this is called naturalization. I think

Definitely a Eucalypt fruit. The fruit with the operculum and screw- head
and the leaves are distinctive enough ( though some of the leaves appear to
be different - Acacia perhpas). The smell of the leaves often is a clue to
the species .

I am saving this image set as I am still in initial stage of my studies on
Persea.
Possibly Anil ji or Ashwini ji also had some problem in Persia. I hope to
clarify the unresolved issues here in near future.
At present I have just completed Neolitsea and my earlier concept is fully
jeopardised. I will claify most of the doubts in this genus very soon
including the big question raised by Dinesh ji in another thread sometimes
back about Neolitsea cassia.

One more doubt. I checked this page (

)and find this has origins in Mexico, Central and South America. If this
information is credible, then is this species an exotic and/or invasive

Sir,
This may be possibly Rhodiola species but not developed up to actual
height. I can't say correctly because Sedum species ewersii is also grown
in those altitudes of Ladakh. But for me it is difficult to identify this
species in absence of mature (flowering/ fruiting) stage of the species.
The woolly white grown species is Leontopodium species.

Thanks & regards.

Sir,
This species of Rhodiola is again common in similar heights of way to
Khardungla. As Saroj Ji said R. heterodonta I am also sure that this should
be true. The broadly lance like-triangular leaves with irregularly toothed
margin is the identifying feature of the species. The botanical name
*heterodonta* means having different kinds of teeth which is visible in
this species.

Thanks & regards.

Sir,
This plant is belong to Rhodiola again and the species is imbricata.
Mostly R. rosea converted in rosy colour at the maturity and its leaves are
almost matching with R. imbricata syn R. rosea species. The entire leaves
with upper half dentate and plant is smaller in height with rose pink in
colour.

Thank you with regards.

Sir,
It seem to be a species of Rhodiola most probably imbracata species. Though
the plant is not in full blooming and at dying stage similarly leaves are
also not clearly visible. The common species of Ladakh is R. imbricata syn.
R. rosea followed by R. heterodonta. Because it has almost entire leaves so
it not surely heterodonta species.

Thanks & regards.
