Re: [efloraofindia:67968] dillenia pentagyna

2011-04-25 Thread Mohina Macker
Hi Neil and Joshi Pankaj
It is possible, but only the newly planted saplings are watered
I don't have an older dellinia pentagyna, but most older other trees, which
are definitely not watered, are showing new leaf.
In any case I dont have any observations from earlier years, so it is not
possible to make comparisons.

 Hi Mohina,

Have a sneaking suspicion that the aberrant appearance of new leaves
has more to do with over-watering of your plants by over-enthusiastic
farmhands than any drastic climatic changes. Please check. Have encountered
the same with my saplings but not with the established trees.

   Neil.

Very interesting observation...may be...due to change in climate??

2011-04-25 Thread Vijayasankar
Dear all,

I would really appreciate if anyone could help me to know more about a plant
called as *tsayanni*.
The root is said to have magical powers and is a natural HIV treatment.
Other than this I have no information.

Thanks in advance.

That would indeed be interesting to know. Mhow is to the north of all these
cities you mention. Roughly 600 kms north east of Mumbai (part of Indore
district) and has a proper winter with lowest temperatures reaching around 3
celsius - always a degree or two lower than Indore city.
