2018-11-10 Thread J.M. Garg
Forwarding again for validation please.

Forwarding again for Id confirmation or otherwise please.

Some earlier relevant feedback:
Neither Ipomoea staphylina (inflorescence many flowered ) and not Ioomoea
sagittifolia (purple spotted leaf center , many flowered inflorescence on
long peduncle and flower tube and throat narrow ).
This again looks like Ipomoea piurensis .

2018-11-10 Thread J.M. Garg
Thanks a lot, Magnus ji.

From: Magnus Lidén
Date: Sat, 10 Nov 2018 at 14:16
Subject: Re: SK1521 20 Oct 2018
To: J.M. Garg

O yes, very different. This is a species in the *C. chaerophylla* group.
You check these two descriptions:

33. Corydalis terracina Lidén, Bull. Brit. Mus. (Nat. Hist.), Bot. 18(6):
528 (1989).

Perennial herbs to 25–50 cm. Rootstock stout, apically with small fibrous
petiole remnants. Stem erect, few, usually unbranched, with 1–3 leaves in
upper half. Radical leaves several, in distinct rosette, with 5–10 cm
petioles, triangular, 8– 12 × 10–15 cm, ternate with pinnate to bipinnate
long-stalked primary leaflets; ultimate leaflets ± deeply cut into oblong
to ovate subacute lobes. Cauline leaves subsessile, 4–10 × 4–8 cm. Racemes
dense, secund, 9–30-flowered, 4–15 cm. Bracts linear to narrowly obovate, 4–5
mm. Pedicels 4–5 mm, recurved in fruit. Sepals 3 × 3 mm, rounded, dentate.
Corolla dirty yellow with brownish veins. Upper petal 18–24 mm, crested;
spur cylindric, straight or slightly curved, 13–15 mm, nectary half to two
thirds as long; lower petal saccate at base.

Inner petals 10–12 mm. Stigma square, flat, with four simple papillae at
apex, inner ones small, distinct, outer broad, diffuse; geminate papillae
laterally and on basal lobes. Capsule pendent, obovoid, 8–10 mm, 5–10-seeded,
explosively dehiscent. Style 2.5 mm. Seeds 1.5–1.9 mm, smooth.

Distribution: Endemic to Nepal.

Altitudinal range: 1300–2700 m.
Ecology: Terrace banks and track-sides.
Flowering: April–October. Fruiting: May–November.

Easily distinguished from Corydalis chaerophylla DC. in growth habit. In
the herbarium the unbranched stems, the longer and broader flowers, large
rounded sepals and usually distinctly saccate lower petal are distinctive.

35. Corydalis chaerophylla DC., Syst. Nat. 2: 128 (1821). र र Okhare jhar
(Nepali).

Perennial herbs 0.6–1.3 m. Rootstock stout with some scaly remains from
previous years’ growth at apex. Stem erect, leafy and branched in upper
half. Radical leaves few, fern-like, with 10–30 cm petioles, triangular, 13–20
× 10–20 cm. Petioles of cauline leaves 2–6 cm. Cauline leaves green above,
glaucous beneath, 7–15 × 5–12 cm; leaflets deeply dentate to pinnatifid
into acute lobes. Upper leaves subsessile, smaller, triangular, bipinnate.
Racemes 5–15 cm, spicate, dense, secund, 10–40- flowered, sometimes
branched. Bracts linear to narrowly obovate, 4–5 mm. Pedicels 4–5 mm,
recurved in fruit. Sepals 1–1.5 × 1 mm, dentate, sometimes acuminate.
Corolla pale yellow, often with brownish or greenish suffusion. Outer
petals without or usually with narrow crest, subacute; upper petal 15– 20
mm, spur cylindric, straight or slightly curved, 8–12 mm, nectary half to
three quarters as long; lower petal navicular, not saccate, distal part
often not reflexed. Inner petals 7–9 mm. Stigma square, flat, with four
simple papillae at apex, inner ones small, distinct, outer broad, diffuse;
geminate papillae laterally and on basal lobes. Capsule pendent, obovoid, 8–10
mm, 5–10-seeded, explosively dehiscent. Style 2–2.5 mm. Seeds 0.9–1.4 mm.

Distribution: Nepal, W Himalaya, E Himalaya and Assam- Burma.

Altitudinal range: 1800–4000 m.
Ecology: Forests and clearings, often close to running water. Flowering:
April–September. Fruiting: May–November.

Dear friends,
Poor quality photos while the sun is setting, and to top it - they are of
grass !!
Guessing it may be *Saccharum spontaneum*. The small colonies were seen in
a few spots in the park, in vicinity of a small stream.
