Re: [efloraofindia:319555] Euphorbia species identification requested

2019-04-10 Thread ashutoshsharma11sn
Respected sir,

While i was checking the Euphorbia subgenus Esula, i came across Euphorbia
prolifera which is mentioned in Flora of India.

I visited the plant population recently and after analysing the morphological
details including plant height upto 45cm, psedoumbel leaves 4-5, smaller narrow
stem leaves gradually becoming large and wide in top stem portion beneath
psedoumbel leaves and glands 4-8, horned and also some other characters.

I came to this conclusion that it is most likely Euphorbia prolifera.
(as no colored image is present on net) , i think it is likely Euphorbia
prolifera.
I compared its old herbarium images with our plant and found it similar.

Here's the link of herbarium image
https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/1900312582

I hope it will be confirmed by NP Balakrishnan sir.

Best regards
Ashutosh Sharma

Re: [efloraofindia:319528] Fwd: Herb Id from Bangladesh_SM_1448

2019-04-10 Thread Ushadi Micromini
seems it is a leaf of Dioscorea
possibly d. esculenta
or even dioscorea alat kham aloo
look for the dried up vine with compound spines// kanta in d. esculanta
and a yam in the soil
Sourav you will have to go back and look
and may be even dig up a root

or let monsoon come and see the vine regrow

and look for flowers etc
to rule out Dioscrea
