[efloraofindia:319896] Re: SK1805 21 Feb 2019 - Mycophyta

2019-04-16 Thread Ashutosh Sharma
This is not any Sparassis sp.

It is some Polyporaceae likely Trametes sp.

Sparassis sp. are soft, delicate and not such dark brown colored and hard.
Moreover Sparassis crispa is generally found in temperate coniferous forest
in Western Himalayas, Cedrus, Pinus and Oak are its major host trees.

I am even doubtful about other images of Sparassis crispa on site which is
brownish colored with some white ring.
So i will soon share some images of true Sparassis crispa in new thread.

Best regards
Ashutosh Sharma

Fwd: [efloraofindia:319889] Fungus for ID AT AUG2016/06

2019-04-16 Thread ashutoshsharma11sn
Respected members,

I think these are unmatured basidiocarps of Astraeus sp. on basis of its
edibility as Scleroderma sp. are generally inedible.
However matured fruiting bodies will be really helpful to confirm it..

Here's a link that may help us
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/273002810_Observations_on_the_Astraeus_spp_of_Southwestern_India

After looking at its endoperidium i think these can't be Rhizopogon sp.

Best regards
