It is indeed *Nepeta hindostana. *Gucharan ji has also posted similar plant
from Morni area.
I don't know the habitat of that plant.*
*Two grossly distinct habitats are mentioned for this species in Flowers of
Sahyadri.*
Occasional in sandy river and stream beds........
On stone walls of hill forts in Pune........**
I found this species on stone walls of Purandar as well as Sinhagad Fort.
Just wondering how come different habitats.
Any possibility that sandy soil was taken up from river beds for
construction of stone walls of forts during Shivaji Maharaj era and some
seeds might have gone there ????
