Thanks Ross McDonald for the reply. I uncommented the [admin] section name 
in /etc/influxdb/influxdb.conf. It worked perfectly.

Did you make sure to uncomment the `[admin]` section name? The
configuration should look similar to:

```
[admin]
enabled = true
```
