relative newbie, please be gentle.
I want to use cvs log (and then cvs2cl.pl) to generate ChangeLogs between
two tags so I can see exactly what was worked on between these two tags
(ultimate goal is to automatically create build notes).
I did:
cvs co -P -A MY_MODULE
then,
cvs log -N -rTAG1:TAG2
That source file seems to have been passed around between several development
efforts that use RCS or CVS for version control. Each time the file was
shipped, its revision history was included. When it was imported (or
initially checked in) by a new shop, the revision history was checked in
with
My primary target is to use just the command line tools
through a secure ssh communication to feed/retrieve
the cvs linux box.
I wonder if there are any rough documents describing
how to use it together. Or is it NOT possible?
I guess it is, because on WinCVS there is a description
using ssh 1.
Hi
I have noticed a strange thing with the revision numbers for some
files. When the file is opened, it shows the revision numbers and log
messages at the top, there it is showing revision numbers like
1.1,1.2,1.3 ... and again below 1.1,1.2,1.3 with different log
messages as below.

Hi,
has someone written an awk/perl/whatever script which
generates a table with (at least) the entries "local
file name", "revision", "date of checkin" from a static
tag and a locally checked out copy of a module? (Every
file in the module which contains the corresponding tag

Hi all
In the cederqvist manual, for the verifymsg file, the following line
is given in the example
^tc /usr/cvssupport/bugid.edit
Is tc the name of a module in the repository for which we want
messages to be verified? If I give it like this followed by the path

Hmmm... I think I've found part of my problem.
I modified the config file to set
SystemAuth=no
and I noticed that other users couldn't log in anymore ... clue #1.
So I was looking thru the actual /cvs/master/CVSROOT dir, and I noticed that
the passwd
file was not updated. It was still the older(

I am experiencing an "odd" problem with a pserver install of CVS. I have
cvs installed, and working just fine for all users except one. All the
users are set up the same... that's why I can't figure out why this _one_
person can't login. I keep getting :
cvs login: authorization failed: serve
