I find undocumented behavior for cvs commit -r option.
(I suppose these are documentation bugs.)

`-r REVISION'
Commit to REVISION. REVISION must be either a branch, or a
revision on the main trunk that is higher than any existing
file is registered by `cvs add' on branch, then
revision on branch is created.
also dead revision is created on trunk.
commit log of dead revision is automatically generated:
"file %s was initially added on branch %s.", file, tag
