Thank you all very much for your help...
I have read another manual written by one job-mate (more reduced... but now
I know that it misses several important aspects ;-) instead of the official
one... I apologize for annoying you all with these silly questions.
Thanks you all again, and best rega
Hi everybody,
I'm tracking a third party software within my CVS repository. Till now, what
I've done is this:
1.- Downloaded the initial release of the 3rd party software.
2.- Create a new module within my CVS repository.
3.- Work within the HEAD main branch.
Now, another release of that 3rd par
Hi,
finally I solved my 'silly' problem.. I was so fool that I didn't realized
(when I browsed the CVS manual for the first time) that I could use vim to
edit my log messages, simply by typing:
cvs commit
That's without the option: -m "Line 1\nLine 2"
When I write my log messages from vim, with s
Hi,
when I checked-in modules from WinCVS to the repository, I was allowed to
include log messages with several lines... I noticed that it was translated
to this command:
cvs commit -m "Line 1\nLine 2\nLine 3"
So, now I work from command-line at a linux terminal, and I try to check-in
my modules

Hi,
What's the difference between checking-out the 'avendor' branch (with the
'arelease' tag) and then patching... and expo
When I started one project and setup my CVS, I included in my repository the
sources for GNU tar... I used the VENDOR (GNU) and VERSION (v1_13) tags when
importing the modules... and get on modifying those sources within the main
trunk...
Now I would like to add to that branch the changes include
Hi,
I have two subdirectories 'a' and 'b' in my CVS-repository... I would like
to know if it's possible to modify the Modules files so that, whenever I
checkout module 'a' it creates:
The hierarchy for a at my local working directory
The hierarchy for c at 'mylocal working directo
I have come up to one proposed soñution for this problem, changing the
/etc/xinetd.d/cvspserver settings to look like this:
service cvspserver
{
socket_type = stream
protocol= tcp
wait= no
user= nobody
server = /
Hi,
I have set up my repository (I think I have ;-), and can successfully import
modules... but, when I try to checkout those new modules, it gives me the
following error:
cvs checkout -P Documentación (in directory D:\Trabajo\WebPhone)
cvs server: cannot open /root/.cvsignore: Permission denied
Excuse me,
but I made a terrible mistake... my problem had nothing to do with cvs
itself... but with xinetd. I'm sorry,

Hi,
I have installed CVS in my server, created the repository, assigned the
correct permissions to group cvs, and added the developers to that group.
I have also included in /etc/services the following services:
cvspserver 2401/tcp
cvspserver 2401/udp
cvsup 5999/tcp

Hi,
once that I've imported a file hierarchy as a whole module, is it possible
to define groups of subdirectories as different sub-modules, so that I can
work with the whole hierarchy or only with groups of subdirectories?
Bets regards
