I am able to login into Cvs as root as well as a user.
when I have logged in as a root i face some difficulties when trying to
commit a file after making changes to the file.It says root is not allowed
to commit files.
Right; root is not allowed to commit files. This is a design

I hadn't thought of that... Here's the file that comes immediately after
the last successful checkout. It doesn't have a new line, but it does have
some funky characters.

I am trying to begin using CVS at work and am having trouble getting a
checkout to work properly. I have imported the files into the repository -
everything looks fine. But when I try to checkout a copy, I'm getting an
error before the operation completes. Quite a few files are checked
