Look like using SLP protocol (RFC 2165).
You can switch off this protocol or tune (start?) SLP-server.

Hi! Netfriends,
I'm using cyrus-imapd-2.2.8-6.3 and I love it. Thanks ;-)
My current problem is that quotaroot value is not displayed anymore for over half of my users (23000
over 41000 mailboxes)
Last time I checked (last week), everything was ok. By example::
# telnet myserver imap

Hi,
I am looking for a Debian (Sarge) package of Cyrus imapd 2.2.x. As it
is, Debian ship with either 1.5.19 (yike!) or 2.1.18. Ideally, a well
maintained package from a reputable source. If possible, something as
functionnal as the Simon Matter's RPM, which include a lot of very

I'm getting a new backend in a murder environnement.
I want to move some mailboxes to the new backend to balance the load.
I tried as the doc says:
backend1 rename user/test user/test backend3!part01
renamemailbox: Unknown/invalid partition
It seems that cyradm dont't like the backend3! part.

So we had a test box and now we have the real hardware in for the
mail server.
I understand I can just shut down the MTA, and cyrus then tar /var/
spool/imap over to the to the new server.
Now what I don't know is if I can do the same for /var/lib/imap.
Thanks,
derek

I found out that 2.2.12 Debian package is currently in experiemental
stage; see https://alioth.debian.org/projects/pkg-cyrus-imapd/. I'll
give the experiemental dpkg a try. I also found a few other sources on
apt-get.org. If you have any suggestion, they are still welcome.

I have cyrus running in a virtual setup where my mailboxes file has

Before moving to the virtual setup I could easily run quota or

first of all, this is a Cyrus question - not a postfix question.
I also have no idea why you're trying to do this.
However, you may have more luck on a cyrus list or their website.

Hi all.
I have two relatively simple questions, I hope. I'm running Cyrus IMAP
2.2.10, using / for hierarchy separator (IOW, I have usernames with

Q1
When I rename a mailbox, sieve scripts associated with it dissappeared -
normal? Luckily, I'm the only user with Sieve scripts

I'm trying to implement a virtual-domain/virtual-user setup where
'[EMAIL PROTECTED]' and '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' are separate users/accounts/mailboxes.
I'm using RHEL4 and all its official RPMs except for pam_mysql which
comes from a third party that rebuilds FC3 rpm's to work in RHEL4. Here
