want to use virtual domains. Do you have virtdomains set in imapd.conf?

I am trying to setup a mail server using Postfix + Cyrus with virtual
domains and GSSAPI/kerberos. I checked the log /var/log/mail.log and the
incoming e-mail could be delivered to the mailbox successfully. The

Do you have a good reason to use the deprecated 'cyrus' transport?
Otherwise you may try 'mailbox_transport =

Postfix accepts only mails to domains which were configured via

lmtp_admins in imapd.conf or give it the permissions to post (p, if I'm

modul for to auth against my mysql database i can now login to my imap

unixhierarchysep:yes and added altnamespace: yes.With cyradm i created a
mailbox with: cm user/[EMAIL
I'm running Cyrus/Postfix + Amavis/SpamAssassin
When spam comes in addressed to mailboxes which don't exist,
Postfix is generating Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender messages - often of
which these just build up because the from/reply-to address is
fake.
Is there anything I can do about

The error is because you don't have the user added with cyradm
in Cyrus. Are you having unixhierarchysep: yesin your imapd.conf ?
Otherwise you will not be able to add users to Cyrus with . in their
names. It might help if

In that case the mail *does* get deleiverd ok but the sender (Internal
and/or external)
gets an errormessage stating that the mailbox does not exist

I get intermittent errors Mailbox does not exist from deliver, for
mailboxes which definitely do exist. The intermittent errors occur even on
mailboxes which receive mail successfully just before and just after the
error.
I'm using Cyrus 2.0.16 and BDB 3.2.9.
