what's your ssl/tls config in imapd.conf?
Did you copied the key content as text with a mouse over text terminals or so?

Hi All,
Been using Cyrus IMAP for over a decade and very happy.
I wonder if someone can shine some light on a SSL puzzle. I'm trying to
use a free startssl certificate with Cyrus 2.3.16 on a Centos 6 system
I have configured other startssl certificates the same way on other

.
Comodo sent an intermediate CA certificate
along with the signed ssl certificate, that I don't know what to do
with.
In SSL the client verifies (or should verify) the servers certificate
with a list of local trusted CA certificates.
And only if this verifies correct, the SSL handshake is OK

I'm afraid that this is likely to be a problem.
Cyrus (imap/tls.c) uses SSL_CTX_use_certificate_file() rather than the
more advanced SSL_CTX_use_certificate_chain_file() to set up
Hi Cristian,
usually if the server has SSL/TLS capability it advertises that in
the response to the 'capability' IMAP command:
We have telnet disabled so I can't try this.

just as easy as :
openssl rsa -in imap-server.key -out

with.
Thanks,

Short answer: IMAPS should be working fine on your server.
Long answer:
The CA certificate is used to verify the authenticity of your SSL
certificate

If you want to enable Cyrus' TLS/SSL facilities, you have to create a
certificate first. This requires an OpenSSL installation
openssl req -new -nodes -out req.pem -keyout key.pem

Hey all,
So after finally getting ssl working with a self-signed certificate, Im
trying to make the certificate legit by getting a Thawte signed
certificate. I read through the cyrus docs and followed them to create
the original self-signed server.pem file (which worked). My question is
how do I
