I am using cyrus-sasl with pam mysql ( on Centos5)

The mysql is on a remote server. After some time I find that there are
too many connections to mysql open ( using netstat)

I restart saslauthd but still these dont away
How do I check what the mysql connection is being used for ? and how do
I avoid these piling up

Thanks
Ram
