Hi gang,
I've been migrating more information from cyrusimap to
docs.cyrus.foundation today.
On the downloads page
(http://www.cyrusimap.org/mediawiki/index.php/Downloads#External_Projects),
I came across mention of two things, which I'm wondering if they're
still in use enough to warrant remaini

Hi Matt.
Apple has only licensed Apple Push for mail to a couple of large mail
providers: FastMail and Yahoo. If you own an OS X Server license, you
also get a key for personal use. But it's not generally a supported

Hi Sandra,
The issue you linked to was due to an issue with some sieve scripts. The
administrator tried compiling the system scripts by hand using sievec to
work out which ones were no good. They were then removed/fixed.
This documentation tells you how to enable core dumps:

Hi Per,
Your mail has generated a lot of discussion in the FastMail office about
the state of Cyrus's international character support.
The short answer is that you are correct: Cyrus lmtp does not offer
SMTPUTF8. We have added this to the roadmap as something we want to
address in the short-medium

Hi!
As a doc maintainer on the Cyrus project I read the responses coming in to the
upgrade survey, which is linked to at the bottom of the 3.0 upgrade
instructions.
*If you have problems with your upgrade,* and you want help, *please follow up
with a post to the mailing list! *

Thanks Stephan! Great catch.
I'll fix the docs to reflect current reality.
And we'll also update the defaults in the next 3.0.x release so that
virtdomains will actually be userid.

Bug 1599 was marked fixed in 2.4.19, but this is another instance
showing up in 2.5.10+ that nobody has been able to resolve yet.
Perhaps it is related?

Hi Anton,
I've been looking at improving the documentation on cyr_virusscan since
you wrote to the list.
As Cyrus doesn't ship with ClamAV, it's assumed that you have separately
installed it and are familiar with its operation and configuration.

Hi Janos,
Your understanding is the same as mine: on successful IMAP or POP
authentication, the user's inbox should be created if autocreate_quota
is 0 or higher.
Is there any error messages showing up in the log?
If you set autocreate_post: 1 and send the user some mail, does that
create the mai

Hi Kristian,
We would certainly encourage moving to 3.0 if you can : there's a lot of
old bugs that have been fixed as well as some great new features you
might want to use.
The core maintainers are also better placed to provide support against
3.0 as it's a codebase we're actively developing agai
Hi Eugene,
Just to check: has the mail actually been deleted by the client?
cyr_expire is there (I believe) to clean up messages and folders
that have been flagged as deleted by the client but not yet
physically removed. It can't remove mail that is undeleted, no
matter how old it is.

Hi folks,
On a quick uneducated tour around the obs.kolabsys.com site, I get to
https://obs.kolabsys.com/package/show/cyrus-imapd:2.5-next/cyrus-imapd
and if you follow the links per platform on on the right hand side, it
does take you to a page which seems to have downloadable tarballs.

Hi Stephen,
I remember documenting a similar problem not too long ago. Take a look
at
http://cyrusimap.org/imap/faqs/o-toomanyprocesses.html
And see if there's any information there which helps.
Cheers,
Nicola

Hi Andy,
I remember writing a faq about process counts growing.

I'm not actually sure it's applicable in your situation, but just
in case...

Thanks Stephan!
I will fold your information into the FAQ as this is a topic which comes
up semi regularly on the list.
