*Job Description: *Great well funded start up in the IT space is looking to grow their team. The majority of their infrastructure is hosted by AWS(Amazon Web Services), however the company is planning some explosive growth and wants to eventually bring their non-production servers inhouse. -7 year+ *MySQL Server DBA* -Expert level MySQL database experience in a high volume *24x7 web environment* -Expert at troubleshooting MySQL related issues (lock contention, high load, slow queries, performance, etc) and identifying root causes -Experience with Nagios, Ganglia, Cacti and/or other tools such as CA Spectrum and Wily Introscope -Ability to script using Bash/Perl/Python to automate database activities -Proficient with the CLI and a working understanding with Linux (CentOS/RHEL) internals with some experience in SQL, PL/SQL -This individual will have to be comfortable working with many teams as they have local and offshore teams. -Cloud based database management experience -Over 200 virtualized server instances currently, ideally plan on 400 instances by the end of 2014, and 1000 by 2015 -Performance Tune, table optimization -Build out sand boxes for both development and QA -Production will remain with AWS(high financial transactions).
