*Title: Java/J2EE Architect/Designer* *Location: Madison, WI* *Length: Long-term* *Interview Telephonic/Skype* *Strong Insurance Background* This position requires an experienced architect with a minimum of 5 years in distributed, web-based Enterprise Java architecture. Candidate must have a strong understanding of open systems architecture including integrations with vendor packages, relational databases, message queues, REST and SOAP web services and legacy systems. *Assignment details:* This role interprets enterprise solution architecture and requirements documents through building application architecture and designs in UML. The individual will work with the development team to ensure the design and architecture are realized in the code. The only coding will be to prototype a design. Typical design decisions are how to use design frameworks and tools (i.e. Spring, STRUTS, Hibernate, Ajax) to realize the architecture and requirements. We also evaluate new open source frameworks and tools regularly.
