*Position: SAN/NAS/Admin* *Location: Fairfield CA* *Duration: 1 year CTH* Interview: 2 PHONE INTERVIEWS *Must have Skills: HDS - array/EMC - 7500/Cisco Fiber Channel exp* Key Tasks: • Architecture and design experience. • Must have product and technology evaluation experience o Product Comparison o Must be able to say why they should go with one product over the other. • Must be able to present to large groups and lead large technology/business meetings with various stakeholders. • Must have Contract Management experience, software – licensing, terms of a product Job Functions: • Work in a team environment to provide daily administration, support and management of a large, complex Storage Area Network and NAS environment. Components include: EMC, IBM SVC, HDS, Cisco Fiber Channel • Evaluate, test, design and integrate new storage technologies and processes to meet changing business needs. Provide recommendations for future capacity growth. • Conduct complex technical analyses such as analyzing system problems or reviewing system procedures in order to resolve issues or develop or improve processes • Plan, coordinate and upgrade components of the SAN/NAS as needed with software, hardware and microcode upgrades, etc. Work with vendors as needed in this process Required Skills: • 10+ years of proven and progressive storage enterprise experience • Strong knowledge of EMC, HDS, IBM SVC and Cisco Fiber Channel Network Attached Storage (NAS) technologies. • Working knowledge of networks • Working knowledge of storage certification and testing procedures • SAN Management • Deep understanding of industry leading NAS storage products • Must be able to implement and test new functions and solutions as well as provide 3rd level on call support • This person will be on customer site full time and will work out of the Fairfield, CA area. Project Responsibilities: • Performs product management duties over a sector of technology products or services or assigned to high profile products or services. • Oversee and manage the continuous product lifecycle from research, planning and implementation to retirement. • Introduce new innovative solutions that enhance the existing capabilities of the product(s) or service(s). Develop methods of automation and optimization. • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with broad • scope and high complexity. • Be a technical leader. Mentors and develops internal training programs on the targeted product(s) or service(s). • Partner with peers in the accountable planning organization to develop the • strategic vision and understand how it applies to the targeted products or services. • Understand the industry’s product positioning, the product’s key benefits, and the product’s targeted users. Partner close with the vendor to influence the product’s future • capabilities. • Partner with the accountable planning organization to research new market technologies and make recommendations that are aligned with the Company’s vision and values. SOLUTION DESIGN • Be a Subject Matter Expert for the assigned products or services that is recognized both internally and externally of PG&E. Demonstrate full technical competence within the in-depth areas of computing or network. • Understand and analyze a project’s business and technical requirements. Provide • guidance and recommendations for gaps in the requirements. • Leveraging targeted IT products or services, lead sessions with peers to translate requirements into a detailed solution design that teams can leverage to properly deploy and implement. • Document design specifications, installation instructions, configuration manuals, procedure manuals, and other system-related information. • Have a thorough understanding of IT project and planning methodologies. Contribute to the enhancement of clients IT project and planning methodologies. • Span multiple technologies and areas in order to be able to provide accurate project timelines, complete labor and materials cost estimates to the project. • Be able to verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. • Have the ability to manage and lead multiple cross-functional projects as well as providing guidance to peers on other projects CAPACITY PLANNING • Manage the enterprise wide technical capacity for targeted IT products or services.
