Prize Competition Theme: How to Achieve Practical Implementation of Values and Theories of Global Responsibility? Type: Essay Competition Institution: Studies in Global Ethics and Global Education, Akademia Pedagogiki Specjalnej im. Marii Grzegorzewskiej Location: Warszawa (Poland) Deadline: 31.10.2017 __________________________________________________ In “Studies of Global Ethics and Global Education” we would like to develop further discussion about possible practical solutions to global challenges. We invite scholars to write texts concerning the relationship between the theory of global responsibility and its practical applications. We leave open the question whether the current state of affairs is a consequence of a flawed theory or the eagerness to avoid the costs of its practical implementation, i.e. addressing global challenges. We look forward to receiving papers that are not limited to a mere diagnosis but offer constructive and compelling arguments and solutions. We await texts trying to answer the title question: “How to Achieve Practical Implementation of Values and Theories of Global Responsibility?”. The following list of issues can be of help for applying authors, but we are open to papers exploring other topics pertinent to the main question: - mutual relationship between theory and practice in the context of global responsibility, - shortages of theories of global responsibility, - practical applications of theoretical solutions, - theoretical answers to practical challenges, - challenges in applying ethical values into social, economic and political life. The deadline for submission is October 31, 2017. The best essays will be published in “Studies in Global Ethics and Global Education”. Top three essays will be awarded: 500 euro (1st prize), 200 euro (2nd prize), and 100 euro (3rd prize). The reviewing commission reserves the right not to give any awards, if the quality of the submitted texts is not satisfactory. We only accept manuscripts that haven’t been published or are not considered for publication by any other journal.
