Re: [Iperf-users] Iperf speed test results

What version of iperf are you running? What protocol, TCP or UDP? Not sure
what you mean by "iperf managing testing"

With iperf 2, more streams will cause more traffic threads and use more CPU
cores and get higher throughput when a single core can't saturate a link.
Try -u -l 18 to see that CPU as a the bottleneck.

Iperf 2 separates accounting from traffic per a separate reporting and
accounting thread so there is relatively no cost to "perform traffic
accounting" assuming multiple cores.

[Iperf-users] Iperf speed test results

2021-06-25 Thread Luis Hurtado Llopis
Hi,

Would like to ask you something which make me doubt regarding Iperf speed
test results.

When I test it by using 10/20 or more streams I get higher speed rates than
when I test it with only one stream. For me this is a little bit strange
because I think with one stream sending data it is less packet load than 20
streams, then it should be faster to manage that load having higher data
rates.

So, is this result related with the way Iperf manage the testing?

Many thanks in advance,
Luis
