Unfortunately, with local blowtorch KGOW The Game on the same frequency, even
though I tried with three separate radios (DT-400W, PR-D5, and CC-Radio EP), it
was a water haul from my location in far south-east Houston.

1040 CKST's signal is relatively weak towards Victoria since their daytime
pattern runs mainly east-west for maximum population coverage in the Lower
Mainland of BC and not concentrating too much on covering areas in southern
Vancouver Island and northwest
It's odd that here in Scotland, where WQEW owns the frequency, KGOW was
a fair signal at 0400 UTC Saturday.

CFAX has always had a fair signal here during the day going back to the
60s. I talked to their CE years ago and was told that they had a null in
my direction to protect KWJJ-1080 and KNX-1070. I guess they use the
same pattern day night. The CE said, the power was somewhere around
35-50
