Have noticed that KMPH 840 out of Modesto CA must be off the air because have
not heard them here in the daytime from Vacaville CA and also at night I always
hear them just wanted to pass on this tip on to dxers out there.
How to Sleep
As some people know, I love small town radio... and love collecting
airchecks of stations. I have compiled a list of stations I'm most
interested in hearing and have recently update that list.
Check out my list of Most Wanted Airchecks by going to:

1315UT (spot checking the recording mostly)
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

Opinions
Had not seen anything on any of the discussion lists that I belong to, so I was
rather surprised to get this in my inbox just a few minutes ago. I had the
opportunity to visit with Bill on at least one occasion (the 2011 NRC
convention in Omaha) and possibly another (I THINK he attended the
Really sad. He attended the Albuquerque IRCA convention in 2009. One of
the orig charter members that started the IRCA in 1964. A very active
QSLer through the years too. We lost two greats of late, Don Kaskey and
Bill Nittler.

That is interesting. If they cover the whole area well, they must have
some power. I should give it a try tonight. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear about Bill Nittler.
I had the opportunity to meet him 3 or 4 times at conventions, the most
recent being Seaside in 2010. He was one of the IRCA's founders and
was part of the DX Monitor publishing team during the club's very early
days.
Bill was my first contact with
Thank you for passing this on Rick. I met him only once, at the
Calgary convention, where we somehow ended up being the
co-auctioneers. He had a fine sense of humor, and was a worthy
replacement for Mr. Bytheway. And as Bruce mentioned, he was a
major force in the early days of the club.
