Congrats, Jim. Do you start over now or after 5000?
In have no idea how many I've heard. I'll have to count ...

I found this and thought it might be helpful in identifying a station
suspected to carry CBS Radio News. You con't search by frequency, rather by
state.. but it's a start.
Disclaimer: I don't know how accurate/up to date the list is:
Upon arrival in the Pawnee National Grasslands (NE Colorado) Monday, we laid
out 1100 feet of BOG; mostly East-West, on dry ground.
The wire did its predicted job of squelching stuff from the sides (for

Wonder if anyone else had unusual noise problems Monday night...or if it
was caused by the many gas-well/fracking operations going on nearby.
North Auroral Zone extends down to most of the northern US. That may have
provided some noise. It's much further down than usual.
Just doing a quickie spot-check I discovered one inaccuracy... there's a flag
that's clearly in northeastern Oklahoma, but when you click on it they show it
as KCTE-1510 Kansas City MO... like Paul I'm in no position to vouch for the
rest of it, though I can confirm that KTXR-101.3 carries the
Things are looking up, hi. Two RR longwave stations with pips on the
hour at 1200UT this morning, 279 and 153, with 279 the stronger, but
neither with much pep. Interesting that these show up without even
any carriers on the low MW band Asiatic big guns.
Presumed Tahiti showed up on 738
One problem we have had at the LBI DXpeditions has been excessive pickup of
electrical noise on the BOGs, which are at least 50' from the nearest power
line or transformer. We investigated by taking a portable out onto the beach
and beyond where the BOG's were. We found that the noise field was
What kind of noise was it? Perhaps your BOG was aimed into a big T storm cell a
few hundred miles away, although I don't recall any. It's always a good idea to
check on the car rx or to have a portable along to see if they have the same
issues with noise as your DXped antenna.

It wasn't the transient kind of noise one expects from nature but rather a
broad and steady high noise floor. There are a good number of gas
processing plants and even some fracking going on up there but nothing
nearby. Kaz you have an SDR so you'll appreciate the noise floor was in the
