It was a better morning for sleeping late than listening for TP signals here.
The only significant signal was a het on 702 (possibly 2BL) from the WSW.
It was heard from 1207 until complete silence at 1227. It was strongest
immediately following local sunrise at 1210.

Hello All,
The Asian mainland stations definitely had the edge here today, with
648-VOR the best performer of the morning with its Chinese service (around
1310). As sometimes happens here during September, 657 had a mix of Pyongyang's
obsolete music and a weak Chinese co-channel

Fair TP signals from two NHK powerhouses were heard this morning.
747 JOIB, man speaking in JJ. Fair signal strength from 1151-1155. Barely
audible by 1156. Best reception of station here in a long time.
774 JOUB, man speaking in JJ. Faded in at 1145. Fair signal at 1146. Faded out
at 1148.
Seeing the decent TP reports lately I set my alarm clock to get up early
this mornings and had some success.

Hi All,
A couple of years ago, I purchased the basic version of GeoClock to get
more maps than the demo version. It worked well until recently, after
changing my Vista laptop with a Win 7 machine. I went trough the
registering processas it should and I entered my license key.
Now, the
It's literally a one man operation, so there may be response delays. I have no
experience with the OS
changes you describe as I'm still running XP, although I'll have to move to 7
next year. GeoClock has a
version for Win7, and maybe that's the difference.
I am not aware of anything like
If you saved/backed up the map and data files somewhere you should be able to
re-load them. I've always kept backups
which I've used for that purpose when any became corrupted.

I am still running XP in the PC World, but most operations are now on Apples. I
do recall having to change all the suffixes of the maps (I think) sometime ago
on one of the GeoClock updates. I bought the full version and even my own

Here in Alberta, Asian signals suffered took a further decline
today, with only the big Japanese outlets, along with Korea on 1566 and
VOA 1575 reaching audio. 594 was a bit of an anomaly, as the signal was
stronger than the past couple of days. 693 was comparable to yesterday,

Today was the best of the four days I've tried so far this season. There
were lots of carriers, and lots of channels with audio. Some of the
higher-powered NHK stations were making decent appearances. Most of the
good stuff was below 1100. The high end of the dial was, once again, quiet.
While none of them are anywhere near audio, there are a number of TA
carriers audible tonight. They tend to pop up and down quite quickly,
but a quick scan at 0340 showed carriers on:
675, 855, 954, 999, 1107, 1215, 1296, 1422, 1566 1584.
1215 and 999 are the best of the bunch.

What are these beverages (often of alcoholic origin) of which the

Some years ago I think the Nagoya DX Circle provided a link to photos

Seems that the culinary and beverage side of DXpeditions on this coast has
been sadly lacking. Although we did go for some nice meals in Grayland,

Again, plenty of DX today. The DX Fishbarrel said there was a fair
bit of liveliness on Asian frequencies from 1145 to 1300UT when I
started really listening.
