Listened from 1352-1522 utc local sunrise. Japanese morning here in Kalama, WA.
Spread evenly throughout the MW band this morning. Top signals of the morning
were from HLAZ 1566 VOA 1575.
594 JAPAN, Tokyo, JOAK NHK1 1352 weak signal with woman in Japanese. Fair
signal at 1515. NW ewe.
Conditions today were a continuation of the past few days. There was a
low end enhancement at about 1300-1400, and a high end enhancement at
1500. Only a few of the regulars showed up today.
Good - A native speaker could have understood most of it, at least briefly

Bruce,
Thanks for the info. I wonder if the frequency will be sold to some other
company down the road and return? I don't think KARR's coverage area is all
that great anyway. I get it here with some effort, but KARR is far from strong.
Yakima is stronger. Both are about 150 miles.

Hello All,
Like Dennis I enjoyed some nice Asian propagation on both the low and high band
this morning, although (as usual) with fewer Japanese signals than in Kalama.
There were a few more Asian mainland stations showing up on the low band here,
however (also as usual). 972-HLCA and

At 1739 CLT, I am hearing the distinct sounds of Morse Code being
intermittently broadcast on 1440 either directly north or south of my QTH.
This has been going on for at least the last 5 minutes. Can someone in the
Midwest get a fix on this?

Rick,
Steve here in Boone, Iowa. Listening on my 160M inverted L I hear an SS
rising above a unintelligible jumble. No CW.
BTW for those DX'ers in warmer climates, at 0548 local / 2348 GMT it is
5.5F here. Low tomorrow night is supposed to be -10F, no surprise.

Unfortunately it stopped within about a minute of me sending out a notice.
Wish I would've had a tape recorder going. :(

Thanks to some modest auroral enhancement and, especially, the absence
of WBZ IBOC noise, I caught a nice ID from a very wobbly Radio Mayabeque
a few minutes ago. I'm now trying to ID a station with Spanish music on
1020, mixing with KDKA and Radio Reloj.
The WBZ IBOC outage may not last for

And that's not all... in addition to 740, I'm also hearing wobblers on
650, 870 and 1040 tonight. These are all Cuban stations, but they're
all carrying different network programming.

An interesting morning, though mostly the old standby stations with
one or two odd ones. Lively after 1300UT, but a dead patch after
1400UT for better part of the hour.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
774 JOUB EE lessons 1340UT,
At 00:30 CST noted that WBBM 780 IBOC is turned off.
Hope it's off for a long time!
