I second Gary's comments regarding our meeting. We enjoyed a couple of hours of
very stimulating discussion regarding radios, antennas, propagation and
DXpedition sites. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Gary and also appreciate the

Thanks to Nick and Walt for their initial reports. I just finished a very
enjoyable lunch with TP-DXer Craig Barnes from Colorado, during which we
discussed all kinds of exciting subjects like antennas, propagation, and how to
track down TP's with Ultralight radios and FSL antennas. Craig is an
I'm selling 4 radios, not because anything is wrong with them but I just
need to declutter a bit, plus I haven't used some of them in months.
The radios come with NO accessories, no wall-wart power supplies and some
are missing battery covers.

Since I am a frequent reporter of just barely audible carriers, often making
assumptions on what they are, here`s my take:
There are formally no ``new ones`` for me, since long ago I distanced myself

Gary, 657 was booming in to Masset as well and 1053 even was clearly
audible under cochannel Japan. 73, Walt

Very nice Asian reception into Masset this morning. Highlight was 1584 with
bubble jamming. ? Iran, cochannel 100w NHK 1 often at good level. Not a
peep from DU and a modest post LSR enhancement. Indonesia on 90 and 60
meters exceptionally well heard. 73, from a sunny Queen Charlotte. Walt

Yesterday was very minimal signals, but today went one step
further, with no audio at all from TP/DU stations. Plenty of DU
carriers, especially on the lower half of the dial, but none that quite
made audio. Unusually the closest was on 567, not normally among the
first tier here.
Hi Guys,
There was decent audio here from the Japanese and Korean big guns from
1300-1400, as well as a moderate but persistent signal from 657-Pyongyang. The
latter stuck around for practically the entire hour, refusing to go away (or
come up with better programming).

I have been tuning the Japanese WebSDR's for weeks now -- no sign of any

OK Chris.1053 was in this morning with music here, but I'll need
to check the recording to see if there was any talk, and to maybe
snag the offset(s) if I can. But the few times I've heard anything,
it's sounded Japanese, and the rest of the band conditions at the

possibilities...

For this trip I brought a nearly new Erin E1 and a Quantum Loop to do some TP
dxing. This morning started out on a promising note from within a ground floor
hotel room facing east. JOUB was heard with weak audio @1240. Man and woman

Search the 'net for ESPN 102.9 and 1490. No luck determining whom I heard.
Anyone?

Again little DX was heard here this morning. There were traces of signals from
Asia detected on 594, 702, 747 and 828 kHz. Only JOUB 774 was audible (barely)
at between 1113 and 1122 GMT. There were traces of a signal from DU on 774 at
1158 1212. A carrier was heard on 1548 at 1221 fading
It is my understand that the frequency is empty aside from Yanbian during
skywave. My sources in Seoul tell me that Haeju is off entirely - if there
were an open carrier 60 miles away at 1,500kw, it would be very much
noticed. As long as Haeju is off, Seoul and Gimpo have no reason to function
