No luck on the DX test here in southern Alberta. Conditions didn't seem
that favourable, with CJSN much more dominant than it usually is at night.

Test heard in NW Metro Phoenix area. Horrible QRM but sweep tones and code cut
through it surprisingly well. Also even heard part of a vx ID around 12:04
(MST). - John S.

Walt,
Interesting. I wonder if we did hear the test? Then. I am glad I am not
the only one to report the sweep tones. The SW EWE is what brought it
in and I found the Eastern beverage is too directional to the East on
1490. Thanks.

I'm not sure what sweep tones are, but I heard a short series of tones
getting progressively higher in frequency. Just one series of maybe 5
notes. Jim Springfield Mass.

On 1486 khz I heard something like a sweep tone at 0201 EST. Don't know
if that was the test or not, but something was heard.

Tried a different approach in Victoria. Watched my Perseus at 25 kHz
bandwidth so anything coming up was easily seen. I did see/hear a
tone at about 07:03:30 measuring about 2200 Hz for several seconds.
Captured this with the snip-it tool. Anyone else hear a tone at that
time? Otherwise,

I may have had a few faint bits of Morse Code on 1485 kHz. At least
that's how it looked on the receiver's waterfall display, and sounded to
my ears. But there wasn't enough there to remotely constitute an ID,
and it was probably just wishful thinking on my part. It was also much
