Digging through the bottom of my radio closet, I found an insulated lunch tote that my wife had given me to carry my radios while we were vacationing or on weekend trips. Mind you, I had not forgotten about the tote, it had just been put to the side so that our travel bags and other luggage could be stowed away. Yes, I have to confess that I don’t have a dedicated radio closet. Maybe our next house, says he who has lived with his wife and family in this house for the past 30 years, ha!!
Anyway, in that tote was a Sangean SG-711L! Officially, the radio is described as an “FM/MW/LW/SW 1-9 12 Band Portable Receiver.” I purchased it on eBay many years ago from a seller in Argentina. It still has the Argentinian Customs stamp affixed to the back of the radio. I haven’t seen any mentions of this radio in any of the club journals in quite some time, probably due to its age. Are there any other DXers out there who have an SG-711L? What are your opinions of it from a DX perspective? I’d be interested to know. 73 & Good DX, Steve Ponder, N5WBI Houston, TX, USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
