WBZ has been asked to lower their IBOC power I was told and they have

It was a mediocre TP morning here, with the high band being
especially weak. Still, most of the JJ, KK and CC regulars were

Somehow I wonder if this is true. flat out refusing to lower IBOC
power when they are itnerfering with a station is just stupid, but then
again WBZ has a huge signal.. and someones problem complaining about a
station outside their coverage area.
Who asked WBZ to lower their IBOC power?
Yup, that promo was for WCBM. Im pretty sure they are co-owned. i think 1370
calls themselves V-1370?

Paul,
I heard this second hand from an engineer I know, that I do not want to
mention their name. I think it is in regard to the QRM to the upstate NY

stated it as I did. There might be some valid points that I know nothing

John,
Good going on your Alaskans. KSKO 870 was a toughie for me and even more

I think when claiming something like WBZ refused.. you need to have more

Greetings,
I fairly good morning, but a slow start. Things did not get going until
after 1400, but the JJs were everywhere. So I decided to take the time
this AM to sit on 1260 1350. I got rewards in both cases, but 1350 was
the real winner with armchair copy of JOER Hiroshima. Totally topping
Interesting. I turned the Drake on about 1330 UTC this morning and found very
little of anything. 774 wasn't even there. It was raining here at the time.
Went back to bed quickly.

Congratulations! I amazed at your report. Those signals crossed a huge
heap of dirt and U.S. MW broadcast towers to find your loop in N. AL.

Great question Craig. Around Detroit, some of the FM

bandwidth, to begin with???
Next question, how can a 100 watt FM station cause
harmful interference against a 100KW station from two

I did indeed hear KNSA when KTKN had problems with its satellite feed,
but only IDed it by paralleling with KDLG-670 (KNSA KIAL-1450 KSDP-830
relay KDLG at night). That was a lucky break, to be sure.
Here in the lower 48 KNSA would be even tougher, thanks to all the
domestic QRM.
Walt,
For some reason, I am no longer hearing KTKN as often as I was even last
year. CJCA is my problem child on 930. This morning my big problem on
1260 was CFRN in trying to get JOIR well. There is nothing to the North
on 1350, so JOER was easier. the Edmonton stations can be issies here.

I've heard KIFW-1230 at Grayland several times now, but you obviously
have a co-channel local to deal with. Walt is right about KTKN and KIFW
sort of being parallel, but I think it's just the same satellite feed.
I think the two stations are owned by the same company.
