Early morning antenna testing coincided with moderately good TP-DX conditions
from 1300-1400 UTC this morning (in predawn darkness). 594, 747, 972 and 1575
were managing fair to good signals, while 1566-HLAZ was peaking at very good
levels.
For kicks I phased the gain boost (on 1566-HLAZ's Jap

It's 0520 and I'm presently hearing barely audible-to-poor signals from RÚV
(ISL) 189 and Radio Monte Carlo (F) 216 kHz. Also, an unID barely audible
signal on 207, possibly RÚV (ISL). Meanwhile, Allouis (F) is transmitting a
steady S6 signal.

$64.00 is an excellent price for the CC Skywave model (it normally sells for
$89.95).
The model (along with four other pocket radios) is fully reviewed at

FYI,
I just discovered the CC Skywave portable on sale at Cabelas for $64. I wasn't
aware that Cabelas even carried them, let alone has the radio on sale for less
than I've seen them so far. Free shipping to one of their stores, if you have
one nearby.

The call sign changes list for KHEP on the FCC database says it hasn't changed.
Someone jumped the gun. Hopefully it will get the community of license right as
well.

KQFN-1580 in Tempe, Arizona is now back using KHEP as I just heard a ID as
"KHEP-Phoenix." They only used KQFN for one day they will change to sports on
Monday so it looks like they may go to KQFN on Monday.
