Like past several days, nothing heard on MW and LF but this morning 890
Idaho forgot to turn on until 1335 utc and 891 DU was heard just a few
seconds before 890 came blasting in, very poor/poor 1335 utc.

Interesting to look at the bid history. Two high rollers with thousands
of eBay transactions each were involved with one willing to pay quite a
bit, but the winner was somebody with just a few transactions. I bet
that guy is a real MW DXer who will use the Kiwa loop to listen with,

Lots of low band hets again this morning but a little more audio. Got
Dennis' 576 with DU audio very poor/poor in heavy domestic splatter 1311

language, but maybe what Dennis also had, 1315 utc; 891 with presumed

Booo! Happy 13th. Odd TP conditions, more Asian than DU. 738 with
pop/RR music with heavy bass beat, very poor/poor, apparently Asian
1253 utc. 891 Asian talk very poor/poor 1254.
1725 GA PNG beacon first heard this year, poor/weak 1312 utc. Very slow
keying, several seconds per character. Best
All DU today. Lots of low band hets, a few high band. 531 presumed DU
with John Denver singing, very poor 1252 utc. (No splatter today.) 891
4TAB with horse racing results very poor/poor with 5AN underneath very
poor 1249 utc.
LWBC Rossii 153, 180, 279 all poor 1220 utc.

R75,
No MW TP/DU heard this morning. 1725 GA PNG beacon at decent level,
heard in LSB (no need for narrow audio filter), weak at 1241 utc. No
sign of 1737 KUT so far this year, not even a trace of carrier which is
always heard first (with narrow audio filter), so this offshore platform
beacon may
First time in several days any DU/TPs heard. 891 with both DU 4TAB with
horse racing, and 5AN with talk, very poor/poor 1238-1304 utc. 890 Idaho
station never came on today, last check 1331 just KDXU Utah.
1116 4BC very poor/poor with talk 1245 utc.

Who'da' thought. High solar activity, high AK indices. Last several
days nothing for 9kc MW or LWBC. But this morning after about 1220 utc
the band lit up, relatively speaking of course. High band first, hets
everywhere from 1500-1700 kHz, X band DU freqs. 1575 with big het,
produced a little
Some just above threshold audio on 738 and 1548 around 1145 utc this
morning. A few hets on other channels though noting on my usual 891.
Presumed Pacific stations.
LWBC Rossii 180, 279 at poor/weak level 1130 utc.
1725 GA,PNG beacon poor at 1140 utc. No sign so far this year from 1737

Forgot to send this earlier, perhaps of interest to someone. 738 was a
fair signal for some time this morning, quite odd since almost nothing
else, even a het, was heard. Asian talk and music, TOH pips at 1200 utc
then female into presumed news. First noted 1142 utc, gone after about
1225 utc.
Hi Nick,
My continuing problem is I can't identify Asian languages so I can't say
for sure what I really had on 738 this morning. But looking at powers
given by WRTH on the stations, and also noting 1503 heard, Taiwan seems
to have the most power for both 738 and 1503 so perhaps I had Taiwan
I listen for LF and MW Pacifics most every morning that I'm home (I was
on several weeks vacation recently). Unless something is especially good
I haven't felt the need to post every morning--conditions in general
have been very poor, both LF and MW.
This Friday morning had a few MW hets with
A little better this morning for DUs compared to yesterday.
891 with 4TAB DU with racing, occasionally hitting poor level; 5AN
fading up now and then, 1140-1158 utc. (890 Idaho comes on at 1200 utc
now.) 1116 4BC DU very poor/poor in heavy splatter 1202 utc. 738 with
non-EE pop music, very
A little better this morning for MW TPs. Lots of hets over the entire
band 531-1701. 738 best channel with poor audio on peaks, presumed
Tahiti, female talk 1158-1214 utc--no music program today. Very poor DU
audio 702 at 1206 utc. Traces of (DU) audio on 1701.
1725 GA,PNG beacon decent copy
The solar activity yesterday stirred some things up. Many mid to high
band MW hets this morning. The expanded band channels, some had multiple
hets--unusual to note, at least for me. Not much audio on any of them
though, and very poor.
1503 very poor DU audio talk, 1149 utc, seemed like several
MW high band was unusually good for Down Under reception this morning.
And best on the short 400' N/S wire. Signals peaked around 1205 utc and
all audio was gone along with most hets by 1215 utc. Few hets and if
any, very weak, below about 1300 kHz today.
1503 very poor/poor DU first noted
Going through my WRTH just now, it lists only one station on 1674, from
the Philippines. If so then that's my first MW Philippine station.

I had the same hets as Dennis, and lots of them today, just none except
1503 strong enough for audio. Conditions lately are back to the usual
very poor.
1503 had occasional very poor DU audio at 1208 utc, deep-voiced man talking.

Many MW hets this morning from 1130 utc on, starting at the low end.
Around 1145 utc the low end hets went away and the high band from 1500
to 1701 kHz had lots of hets. 1629 seemed promising with several hets.
But in the end, none of them produced any audio though 1629 came the
closest.
738 had several decent fadeups, not sure who it was, didn't really sound
French. Man and woman speaking rapidly with lots of passion, rising
pitch interspersed with short musical interludes (several seconds). Very
poor/poor on peaks 1136 and 1206 utc. Since most of what I had seemed to
be DU,
