Actually, Walt, 0200 local (1000 UTC) is one of my favorite (favourite) times
to check the band, and during this month it often provides better Asian results
than the sunrise period. Unfortunately anyone who routinely chases Asian DX at
home during that time period is likely to be written off as an antisocial
misfit, especially if he has family and/ or work responsibilities. DXpeditions
are our only remaining chance to act like wild teenagers again, and chase DX
24/7.

Re: [IRCA] Oklahoma TP DX 12/10/16.

2016-12-10 Thread d1028gary
After an overnight FSL antenna project I was looking for some Asians to run
some A/B tests, but around 1300 only a few big guns (594, 747 and 1053) had any
audio at all. Even 1566-HLAZ was down in the noise. Another check at 1530
brought similar, dreary results. The new-design FSL (with Amidon ferrite)
managed to bring the underperforming TP signals on 594, 693, 747 and 1053 up
from miserable to mediocre.
