It spun back more to a DU morning today, though the big gun Asians still
appeared.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

not today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR man and woman talking //702 1243UT

702 2BL woman and man talking DU English, //612 1243UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could
be understood by a native speaker:

594 excitable man in DU English "two goals" 1228UT, not parallel with anything

774 JOUB woman talking, English lessons 1212UT, mixing with a DU?

828 JOBB English lessons 1219UT

972 HLCA woman and man in Korean 1207UT

1566 HLAZ heard earlier and more weakly with possible Chinese 1206UT; noted at
this level with man in Japanese 1233UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 2RN man talking DU English? //585 1242UT

585 7RN man talking //576 1242UT

747 JOIB man talking //774 1212UT

774 man talking DU English intonation under JOUB, 1212UT

891 woman and man talking, DU English intonation 1115UT

981 woman talking, perhaps Chinese 1206UT, a big surprise.

1017 man talking, island language 1240UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged
by splatter)

 693  1242  1251 1287 1323  1422  seemed to be Asian;
639 729 828 846 1035 1098 1107 1116 1548 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick

Digging in the mud yielded a few Aussies this morning...sort of like
clam digging at Grayland perhaps.

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

738 likely Tahiti w/rhythmic pop music 1216UT
1116 likely 4BC w/man talking to another man on the phone 1244UT
1566 likely 3NE w/man talking to woman on phone; sometimes entire
phrases would come through he became a radio star etc. 1247UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

the above passing through

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in

A bit of a comedown from yesterday, mostly Asian still, but with a
couple of Zedders to wrap things up

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

1566 HLAZ fade up through JJ s/on announcement to this level at
1231UT, with What a Friend I Have in Jesus piano, and into woman in
JJ wishing us good evening and mentioning FEBC. Considerably weaker
during previous half hour or so w/CC program

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

HLAZ passing through

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

738 Tahiti? male FF rap vocal 1221UT
1287 JOHR man and woman in JJ 1136UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :

567 ? man talking1219UT, maybe NZ, but nothing else heard from there just then
675 // 756 R. NZ National woman talking very weakly, but definitely
in // at 1241UT

2013-08-11 Thread Nick Hall-Patch
Mostly an Asian morning today (well, Korean and Russian), with DU
signs only after about 1245UT. Lots of static like yesterday, and
plenty of splatter as well

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

279 R. Rossii man in RR 1130, mention of R. Rossii 1132UT
1566 HLAZ choir mx and man in JJ at 1236UT; heard earlier in CC, but
not as strong, though the changeover to the Japanese service pattern
didn't deliver much signal today.

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:

180 R. Rossii woman in RR at 1209UT
972 HLCA briefly at this level, man and woman in KK 1211UT
1053 KK jammer at its best 1234UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :

153 R. Rossii woman talking slightly offset from 279 at 1133UT
189 R. Rossii man talking //279
702 odd one here, sounded like man in DU EE in the splatter, at
1205UT when everything else was from east Asia

1323 laid back vocals 1251UT, DU by this time?

Strongish het, no or near imaginaryaudio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):

738 828 891 1287 1503 1539 1548 1611

best wishes,
