*Tough call today - I would say there were some treats but maybe, for
inland parts of Asia, signals may have been down a skoosh today.*
*Tier 2 NHK stations faired well - and there were one or two oddities -
particularly on 540 Khz (with a good sample on the you tube link...)*

*529 Khz* 1254Z Level Island/Nome AK really strong - this one is
definitely a darkness path and tanks as LSR approaches.

*540 Khz* 1305Z UNID - 2nd very clear underneath (assuming) Mexico with
something, maybe Russian sounding. On YouTube link -
https://youtu.be/xLTQC0mIl_E *at 1:28 in.*

*558 Khz* 1312Z KBS2 Korea - noted // to the much better performer on 603
Khz

*567 Khz* 1315Z NHK1 JOIK Hokkaido fair - good between 13:00 and 13:50

*594 Khz* 1300Z NHK1 JOAK Tokyo - solid // to 567 with pips on the hour
(in the YouTube highlight reel...)

*603 Khz* 1311Z KBS2 Seoul - Happy FM very, very good at times // to the
much weaker 558 Khz -

*612 Khz* 1350Z 4QR (t) Brisbane - really struggling this AM - slight LSR
boost - but much lighter than previous days..

*657 Khz* 1258Z DPRK (t) Surprise with piano solo over the hour into YL
agitated sabre rattling lecture. Fr. and vanished within a few minutes.

*666 Khz* 1314Z NHK1 JOBK Osaka // 567 and 594 fair at best this AM

*693 Khz* 1317Z NHK2 JOAB Tokyo - odd surge on lower to mid band revealed a
clear // to NHK2 biggies above brutal CBC 690 splash.

**702 Khz* 1316Z NHK2 Japan (multi) - easy // to 774 Khz - suspect Hokkaido
but could be one other as well - fr. on peaks

*747 Khz* 1315Z NHK2 - JOIB - Sapporo, Hokkaido - Fair at times in mounds
of splash

*774 Khz* 1340Z NHK2 - JOUB - Akita - NHK2 - always there - between 1300
and passed 1400 - still on the NHP radar at 1422 UTC

*828 Khz* 1330Z NHK2 - JOBB - Osaka - NHK2 - " " " " " - also
registering well passed LSR

*873 Khz* 1334Z NHK2 - JOAB - Kumamoto - // to 774 JOUB Akita - a couple
of surges on this channel but no better or worse than yesterday.

*891 Khz* 1335Z NHK1 - JOHK(t) - Sendai, Miyagi - only fleeting snippets
of words and music - not as good as yesterday.

*918 Khz* 1336Z UNID - Sounded decidedly Chinese this morning in passes -
this has been a multi-morning elusive signal -

*954 Khz* 1337Z TBS JOKR Tokyo (t) at times fair today - better than
yesterday with bouncy - commercial style of Japanese programming

*963 Khz* 1337Z CRI China (600kw) - Russian again - a tad better than
yesterday

*972 Khz* 1314Z KBS HLCA - Korean at full-on scorched Earth signal. Also
registering well passed LSR.

*1017 Khz* 1338Z - CNR - China - Korean programming - fr. good and in the
clear on peaks.

*1053 Khz* 13--Z - Korea S. - Jammer in solid - to my ear, not quite the
thumping power compared to other signals.

*1089 Khz* 1349Z - NHK2 - Miyagi - Sendai - Surprise // to 774 khz quite
good at times - square in the SR Boost cross-hairs

*1116 Khz* 1339Z - *UNID* - Pretty clear "Chinese" sounding dialect for
around 4 minutes

*1242 Khz* 1355Z - JOLF (t) Tokyo - slightly better today - LSR boost
methinks

*1287 Khz* 1341Z - JOHR (t) Hokkaido - Japanese content - good pre LSR
boost.

*1386 Khz* 1343Z - NHK2 Various locations - easy // to 774 Khz and a
surprise 1593 Khz - overall, a slight edge to yesterdays Japanese conditions

*1566 Khz* 13--Z - HLAZ - Korea - stopped in here 1/2 dozen times - all at
good easy readable levels but no sign of jamming or other naughtiness.

****1593 Khz* 1344Z - NHK2 Various locations - // to 774 and 1386 Khz and
a surprise 1593 Khz -

*Highlight Reel - https://youtu.be/xLTQC0mIl_E
<https://youtu.be/xLTQC0mIl_E>*

*There were good hints and moments of audio on 576, 585, 621, 639, 675,
756, 792, 819, 837, 846, 855, 864, 909, 936, 945, 1008, 1089 and quite a
few others but ravaged by local noise, co-channel splash etc.*

Receiver used today - Drake R8 - Antenna W/NW Flag (27' high, 50ish feet
long...) Wellbrook FLG100 head + remote controlled termination via my pro -
designed VACTROL units -
