Re: [IRCA] Fixin' ta TA Blues...

2018-02-15 Thread Nick Hall-Patch

Thanks Neil.

I have the info re 621 being 24 hours Nacional
also, but it's from a 2016 WRTH (long story; it's
supposed to be a 2018 one by now, ordered two
months ago), so was wondering if something had
changed since then, given apparent discrepancy
between the webstream that I had, and what was
being heard on the Canaries SDR.

Probably the webstream was from one of RNE's
other feeds, either finger problems on my part
(or a programmer's part), but the time for
troubleshooting is not when one is trying to nail
down DX that may never reappear!

best wishes,

Nick

2018-02-15 Thread James Renfrew
RNE local or regional IDs are scheduled 0625-0630, 0630-0700, 0745-0800,
0805-0810, 0830-0845 and later. Doesn't mean that IDs will actually be
given, but those are the best times to look for them. 621 is 100kw from
the Canary Islands, the other four parallels in Spain would be 10kw each,
so almost always the Canaries station that we hear on this side of the
Atlantic. But note that *all* RNE time checks also mention "en Canarias",
so that's not a local reference. Jim Renfrew, Clarendon NY

Agreed on the near audio on 1566 just previous to
Parakou sunrise. That one is a surprise at this
time of year, mostly noted in the summer months,
and never with audio here before.

Had some traces of audio also on 621, but not
enough to parallel with any webstreams.

No audio here, but quite  a few carriers.    The upper band ones seem to
have died over the past 30 minutes, but still some respectable low band
carriers, with 531, 612, 774, and 783 being the strongest.

Re: [IRCA] Fixin’ ta TA Blues...

2018-02-14 Thread Don Moman VE6JY

Hall-Patch fish barrel is creating...
so - good for me to swap the VACTROL and the FLG100 on my Flag quickly...
1566 was near audio at times.
