Andrew –
There is no change being considered to the size of the algorithm field for
Segment Routing. That is 8 bits – there are mature SR documents and multiple
implementations that use that encoding. There is also the IGP registry defined
in an SR document (though not necessarily exclusively

Since a charter only provides a general definition of the work that falls
within the purview of the WG it requires some adjunct to keep track of the
current priorities.
That could be the list of milestones (which OSPF has regularly maintained – but
IS-IS has not) – or it could simply be the

V9 of the MSD draft has been posted with the promised changes.
Please review. I hope this leads to you revising
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-isis-mpls-elc/ to make use of the
MSD sub-TLV to advertise RLD.

Naiming -
I think what Tom is referring to is this text from RFC 5029:
" This sub-TLV is OPTIONAL and MUST appear at most once for a single IS
neighbor. If a received Link State Packet (LSP) contains more than
one Link-Attribute Sub-TLV, an implementation SHOULD decide to
consider only

I strongly disagree with this proposed change.
If you want to take the link totally out of the topology then simply don’t
advertise the adjacency. This works for both P2P and LAN cases.
This is why the draft states

Thanx for the prompt review.
I have posted a new version which addresses all of your comments.

Jeff -
The editorial revisions to the IANA section in V5 of the document seem very
confusing to me.
This document includes a request to IANA to allocate sub-TLV type
codes for the new sub TLV proposed in Section 3 of this document from
IS-IS Router Capability TLV Registry as defined by
A minor revision which modifies the requested code point (one we had specified
was already inuse) and adds the Flex-Algo application.
Note this does NOT address the recent comments from Olivier - that will be done
in a future revision.

is a qualitatively different thing.
I believe that is out of scope for draft-hegde-isis-advertising-te-protocols
(and draft-ietf-isis-te-app).

Julien -
I think the issue you raise first needs to be discussed in CCAMP (or perhaps
MPLS) WG. If there is agreement that this is a problem which needs to be
addressed then a draft can be written. Perhaps this is RFC 5073bis - perhaps
something else.
As far as link level signaling, in IS-IS
In August of 2017 the IS-IS WG adopted draft-ietf-isis-te-app (formerly
draft-ginsberg-isis-te-app) as a WG document.
This happened after extended debate between the proponents of
draft-ginsberg-isis-te-app/draft-hegde-isis-advertising-te-protocols, multiple
presentations at several IETFs, and
