Ma’al Hijrah – Awwal Muharram Awwal Khilafah
Ma’al Hijrah marks a day of tremendous importance, not only for the Islamic Ummah but also for the whole world. Not only is it the Islamic ‘new year’, it was the beginning of a golden age of justice, learning and civilisation, a new system of life for mankind. Within 10 years, this tiny City State, was to purify the Hijaz from Mushrikeen, overcome the Persians and humble the Roman empires and absorb both into Dar ul Islam. It marks the birth of the world’s first ideological state – Daulah Islamiyyah in Madinat ul Munawwarah.
This day now passes almost like any other new years day of any other peoples of the world. Indeed, at this time when the war against Islam (the so called GWOT) continues unabated, albeit at a more subtle and sinister level - the soft war, to corrupt our hearts and minds and terrify us into submission, it is all the more important that we reflect on the true significance of this day.

Whereas previously Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam could only watch as the family of Yasser RA and others were tortured to death, now he would accept no persecution and was preparing the fledgling Islamic State for war.
Madinah the first ideological state
The significance of Madinah cannot be underestimated. It was the world’s first ideological state, established on the Aqeedah of Islam. It was not a state based on selfish benefit of one nation or tribe or race or accidents of geography. Nor was it an empire built on enslavement or lies or material greed.
Within days of arriving Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam had set out a covenant establishing the rights and responsibilities of ruler and citizens both Muslims and dhimmis. Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam defined the nature of the Islamic Ummah and the Daulah of Islam.
The noble covenant of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam read,
“This is a document from Muhammad the Prophet, governing the relations between the Believers and Muslims of Quraish and Yathrib and those who followed them, and joined them and fought alongside them. They are ONE UMMAH TO THE EXCLUSION OF ALL PEOPLE.
… To the Jews who follow us belong help and equality. They shall not be wronged, nor shall their enemies be aided. …”
He set out the Islamic world-view and defined the Islamic Ummah including their responsibilities and duties of fellowship and brotherhood to each other. He prescribed the international rules and relations by which the Islamic Ummah and State were to regard friend or foe. He sallallahu alaihi wasallam defined the enemy with no ambiguity and set the stance of State and Believer toward them - that they and their helpers had no protection from the Believers.
It was after the establishment of the State and the consequent implementation of Islam in life, which saw the perfection of the Deen. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala proclaims,

“This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [T.M.Q. Al Maida:3]
The light of Islam exploded across the world. Within the space of 2 years the Muslims would win the battle of Bad’r the first of many battles with the mushrik Quraish before the final and eternal conquest of Makkah. Within 10 years, the whole of the Hijaz was purified.
During the time of Abu Bakr, the Muslims were able to inflict many defeats on the Persians under the command of one of the most successful Muslim generals, Khalid bin Walid. The overwhelming victories brought many parts of the Persian territory under Dar al-Islam (Land of Islam). Under the command of Muthanna bin Harith and Khalid bin Walid, the Muslim armies defeated the Romans in the famous battle of Ajnadayn in 634 C.E. Damascus and northern Syria fell in 635 C.E.
The conquests continued, the regions of Libya were taken in 647, and Cyprus was taken in 649 by sea-warfare under the command of Mu’awiyah. Finally, the conquest of north-west Africa was completed in 670 and Spain and Sind were taken in 711 and 712 C.E. respectively.
During the time of Umar radhiallahu anhu, the Persians made an attempt to recapture their lands. This time, however, the Muslims did not stop until the kufr Persian Empire was crushed. The Muslim army of about 30,000 men defeated over 120,000 Persian soldiers to make that campaign one of the most successful against the superpower. In the East, the frontier of the Islamic State now extended up to Makran (now in the Province of Sind, Pakistan.) Also under the Khalifah Umar, the Romans were further driven back. Egypt and Persia were taken in 639 and 640 C.E. respectively. Iraq, Syria and Egypt were opened up to Islam as well as Jerusalem. Umar went to Jerusalem from Medina to conclude the famous treaty with the Christians not to allow Jews to enter the city of Jerusalem. This was agreed by the Sahaba radhiallahu anhum consequently it became haram for the Jews to enter this city. This order will stand until Yaum ul akhirah.
Islam spread even more during the time of Uthman radhiallahu anhu. Anatolia, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, parts of Afghanistan, Samarkand, Tashkent, Sajestan, Arghiyan, Turkmenistan, Khursan, Tabrstan, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and parts of Algeria were opened up to Islam. Finally Constantinople fell in 857AH (1453C.E.) to Muhammed Al Fateh.
Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam had established the State and showed us how the Deen was to be implemented, the Aqeedah defended and Islam carried to the rest of mankind. Justice and peace was established under the rule of Islam and whole nations of peoples of all tongues, cultures and locations embraced Islam never to leave it.
Persecution of the Believers return
The Khulafaa who came after Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam alaihi wasallam carried on the task of implementing and carrying Islam until the destruction of the Khilafah at the hands of the Jewish British agent Kamal Atarturk in 1924.
In the absence of the Khilafah today, once again sincere Muslims all over the world are being persecuted merely for wanting to practice their Deen or defend their lands. Without the power and shelter of the Khaleefah and the Khilafah, Islam is no longer implemented comprehensively as a system of life anywhere in the world. The honour of Muslims is no longer defended. Lives and property are no longer protected. Our resources no longer benefit us instead it profits the kuffar invaders. Our lands are no longer safeguarded by the armies of the Islamic Ummah. Islam itself is under attack and being corrupted by the West trying to shape it into their own image, assisted by so called ‘moderate’ Muslims which they have conscripted as part of their dirty and barbaric GWOT.
This Awal Muharram sees the horrifying prospect of so called Muslim rulers working hand in glove with the kuffar in an attempt to remodel Islam into something more pliant to the aggression and interests of the enemies of Islam.
New alien ‘strains’ of Islam such as ‘Islam hadhari’ continue to be bandied about by the likes of Badawi as ‘the Islam that can achieve modernity, prosperity and stay onside with America and the West’. It’s an Islam that has all the ‘required Washington and London approved additives and omissions’ and has been classified ‘suitable for propagation and consumption within the Islamic Ummah’ by Shuyukhs Bush and Blair.
New ‘strains’ of ‘modern’ Islam that side with the bigots of GWOT dictated by the likes of Karzai, Allawi and Ghazi al-Yawir.
These are the rulers that would have a hand in legislation and setting out rules for man when Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has commanded,
“They have no Wali other than Him, and He makes none to share in His Decision and His Rule” [T.M.Q. Al Kahf:26]
These are the rulers that would instruct their charge, to stain their shahadah finger with the mark of complicity with the enemies of Islam. The very finger with which they declare, a minimum of 9 times a day, that ‘There is no God, Power or Authority other than Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, and that the only way of life (and death) is the that of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam’ – that very finger they have stained with the indelible ink and stench of obedience to kufr and taghut. Muslims who were fooled or forced into partaking in their colonial masters ‘democracy’ under terror. Nations who hate Islam, were ‘absolutely delighted’. It marked a new low in the history of the Islamic Ummah.
“Have you seen those (hyprocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgment (in their disputes) to the Taghut while they have been ordered to reject them. But Shaitan wishes to lead them far astray.” [T.M.Q. An Nisa’:60]
And Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has warned,
“O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and Christians for your allies: they are but allies to one another- and whoever allies himself with them becomes one of them; Allah does not guide such evildoers.” [TMQ 5:51]
This Awal Muharram 1426 marks 81 years we have been without the Khilafah.
The Ummah needs the Khilafah of Islam
In these dark times the duty of re-establishing the Khilafah falls upon every single Believer. We are the Ummah of Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam. We are the people who are guided, not the ones who are lost, or have incurred the wrath of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. It is our vital and primary duty to return to the system which Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam brought this noble day, 1,426 years ago.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala strengthen the Mujahideen all over the world, including Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq and Chechnya who are fighting to defend the Believers.
May this Muharram bring ever closer the return of the Khilafah and the reunification of the Islamic Ummah under one Khalifah as promised by Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam,
“The Prophethood will be among you as long as Allah wills, then He will eliminate it if He so wills. Then a Khilafah on the model of Prophethood will prevail so long as Allah wills, then He will eliminate if He so wills. Then there will be biting monarchy as long as Allah wills, then He will eliminate it if He so wills. Then there will be an oppressive monarchy as long as Allah wills, then He will eliminate it if He so wills.
Then a Khilafah on the way of Prophethood will prevail and He kept silent” narrated by Imam Ahmed.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala strengthen the hands of those struggling to re-establish Islam to liberate our Ummah from kufr and taghut, from the tyrant puppets of the west and brutal oppression of the colonialism and terrorism of ‘liberal’ democracies.
To those who are struggling for Islam, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala informs us of the good news,
"Allah has promised those who believe among you and do righteous deeds to grant them in the land power as He granted it to those before them that He will establish in authority their Deen which He has chosen for them and that He will change their state of fear to one of security." [T.M.Q. An-Nur: 55]
