· US, puppet forces begin massive raids in Samarra area, provocatively searching women and girls, looting houses.
· Samarra area Resistance reportedly in hands of local fighters following orderly withdrawal of al-Qaidah combatants. More attacks on US troops believed to be ready for Saturday, pending the Americans advance.
