[IslamCity] Here I am at Your service, O Allah!
Assalaamu alaykum, Brother/Sister! 'Here I am at Your service, O Allah, here I am! You have no Partner. Here I am at Your service! The praise, the bounty and the sovereignty are all Yours. You have no Partner.' That is the constant refrain with which Muslims perform Hajj. By His grace, Allah has given me the opportunity to join the multitude in humming the refrain at His House, this year. I am aware, O Allah, that this refrain is to be acted upon not only during the limited period of the Hajj, but throughout one's life in this world. And I am painfully aware, O my Lord, that on innumerable occasions in my life so far, I have failed to stick to the ideal. Pardon me, O GhafoorurRaheem! And grant me the wisdom, the sagacity and the perseverance to stick to the Straight Path and never deviate from it during the rest of my sojourn here in this world. Won't you join me in this humble prayer, for my sake, for your sake and for the sake of all the Muslim world, my dear Brother/Sister? I may not be able to continue with further additions to my online Qur'aanic Studies for the present. I shall inshaAllah resume my Studies after the Hajj. In the meantime, please do tell your friends and acquaintances about the site www.islam-n-interest.com and do critically examine my Studies. I shall feel duly rewarded if my efforts inculcate in my readers the urge to study the Qur'aan on their own, and to abide by the divine commands therein. [IslamCity] How deal with Abuse in the Western Society
Bismillah hir Rehman nir Rahim 15 tips for victims on how to deal with sexual assault, abuse and harassment in the West It is estimated that one in three women will be raped in her lifetime and that one in seven boys will be sexually assaulted before the age of 18. (the Wisconsin (U.S.A.) Coalition Against Sexual Assault) Sexual assault, harassment and abuse are crimes which are abhorrent and unacceptable. They are often perpetrated in the privacy of homes or are committed by those whom people may be close to or trust. This makes it not only unacceptable, but shameful as well. Victims of sexual assault, abuse and harassment often prefer to keep their victimization hidden, fearing blame. But if you are a victim, this is a danger to yourself and to others too, who may become the next victims of the sexual harasser and/or abuser. Here are some things you can do to break the wall of silence and start the healing: 1. Know what sexual assault, abuse and harassment are Sexual harassment is sexual behavior that is unwanted. Often the harasser is someone in a position of formal authority, but harassment occurs between co-workers or peers as well. Men are sometimes harassed, but most victims of harassment are women. The harasser is almost always male. Examples of sexual harassment include suggestive comments, pressure for sexual contact, demands for sex in return for a job or other benefit, sexual jokes. Sexual assault is an attack of a sexual nature, which includes sexual touching or rape. Sexual abuse is essentially sexual assault but over a prolonged period of time. Incest, or sexual relations between family members like parents and children, or brothers and sisters, is an example of sexual abuse. But sexual abuse can occur outside of the family too. 2. Get medical treatment if you are sexually assaulted or hurt If you are injured after an attack or sexually assaulted, go to the doctor and get medical treatment as soon as possible. You do not have to tell anyone who caused the injury, but it is better for your treatment if you tell the doctor exactly what happened. In the case of rape, a medical examination is important to detect injury and for possible protection against a sexually transmitted disease or pregnancy. 3. Know you are not alone and you are not to blame In the United States, a child is sexually abused every two minutes, according to Senator Christopher Dodd founder of Children's Caucus. Sexual harassment, assault and abuse are not uncommon and you are not alone. There are others who have suffered in a similar way. It is also important to remember that no one has the right to sexually assault, attack, harass or abuse another person. Islam, in particular, is very strong in its condemnation of this behavior, and requires both Muslim men and women to behave in a respectful and modest way with the opposite sex (see Quran 24:30-31). 4. Tell someone trustworthy about it Telling someone else about your experience is a way of getting help. If you have been keeping it hidden inside of you because of shame and fear, it's time to break this wall. Confide in someone you can trust. This can be an Imam, it could be a close family member or a good friend. Telling someone is a way for you to heal and a a step towards doing something about the issue. 5. Consider telling the police about it If you do this, you don't have to press charges, but you may save someone else from being similarly attacked or abused if police know who your perpetrator was. 6. Keep the following documents with you If you are being sexually abused and you are still living with your abuser, you must get out of there immediately. You may not feel strong enough to do this right away, but it is a step you must consider. Taking this into consideration, it is a good idea to keep some important documents with you when you choose to leave. These documents include a birth certificate, passport, citizenship papers, immigration papers, health card, social insurance card, the abuser's social insurance number, money and credit cards, checkbook, bankbook, savings bonds, personal telephone and address book, medicine, house keys, drivers license and car keys, clothing for a few days and valuable jewelry. If you have been thinking of leaving the home to escape violence for a while, start collecting these things. 7. If you are under 18 and living with a sexual abuser... then you can leave more easily and must do so immediately. You may first want to work out a protection plan (see below) with the person you have confided in, a friend, relative, Imam, and may even be able to escape to your confidant's home. Or you may seek help at a local youth shelter. 8. Establish a protection plan A protection plan is a plan of where you will go to escape from the abuse in the home. These are the elements of a protection plan: a. Be aware of when the abuse happens and how often. b. Decide on some safe place you can go to. This might include the mosque,
[IslamCity] What Muslim recommended to do during first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah ?.
Are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah more special than other days? What are the righteous deeds that it is recommended to do a lot of during these ten days?. Answer : Praise be to Allaah. Among the great seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, which Allaah has favoured over other days. It was narrated from Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days. They said: Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah? He said: Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2/457 It was also narrated from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There is no deed that is better before Allaah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of al-Adha. It was said: Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah? He said: Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything. Narrated by al-Daarimi, 1/357; its isnaad is hasan as stated in al-Irwa, 3/398. These texts and others indicate that these ten days are better than all other days of the year, with no exception, even the last ten days of Ramadaan. But the last ten nights of Ramadaan are better than the first ten nights of Dhul-Hijjah, because they include Laylat al-Qadr, which is better than a thousand months. See Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 5/412. So the Muslim should start these days with sincere repentance to Allaah, then he should do a lot of righteous deeds in general, then he should pay attention to doing the following deeds: 1 Fasting It is Sunnah for the Muslim to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) encouraged us to do righteous deeds in the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and fasting is one of the best of deeds, which Allaah has chosen for Himself as it says in the hadeeth qudsi: Allaah says: All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1805. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah. It was narrated from Hunaydah ibn Khaalid from his wife, that one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah and the day of Ashoora, and three days each month, the first Monday of the month and two Thursdays. Narrated by al-Nasaai, 4/205 and by Abu Dawood; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, 2/462. 2 Reciting tahmeed, tahleel and takbeer a great deal It is Sunnah to recite takbeer (saying Allaahu akbar (Allaah is most great)), tahmeed (saying al-hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allaah)), tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (There is no god but Allaah)) and tasbeeh (saying Subhaan-Allaah (Glory be to Allaah)), during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, saying these words out loud in the mosques, homes, streets and every place in which it is permissible to remember Allaah, to perform this act of worship openly and proclaim the greatness of Allaah. Men should recite out loud and women should recite quietly. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): That they may witness things that are of benefit to them (i.e. reward of Hajj in the Hereafter, and also some worldly gain from trade), and mention the Name of Allaah on appointed days, over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them (for sacrifice) [al-Hajj 22:28] The majority are of the view that the appointed days are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, because it was narrated from Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the appointed days are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. It was narrated from Abd-Allaah ibn Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There are no days that are greater before Allaah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed during them. Narrated by Ahmad, 7/224; its isnaad was classed as saheeh by Ahmad Shaakir. The takbeer is as follows: Allaah akbar, Allaahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Allaahu akbar, wa Lillaah il-hamd (Allaah is Most Great, Allaah is Most Great, there is no god but Allaah; Allaah is Most Great and to Allaah be praise). And there are other versions. This takbeer has become a forsaken Sunnah nowadays, especially at the beginning of these ten days. You can hardly hear it except from a few. It should be recited out loud, so as to revive the Sunnah and remind the
[IslamCity] Re: ARAB MUSLIMS' GENEROSITY DOWN PLAYED BY THE MEDIA. SAUDI MASSES SHOW COMPLETE SOLIDARITY WITH ASIAN MUSLIMS
The west and jewish control the media, that why none/very fewof muslims effort being aired in the public media... they have their hidden agenda to brainwash the public... From: Engr. Meer Sahib Sent: Monday, January 10, 2005 3:51 PM Subject: ARAB MUSLIMS' GENEROSITY DOWN PLAYED BY THE MEDIA. SAUDI MASSES SHOW COMPLETE SOLIDARITY WITH ASIAN MUSLIMS [How many of you know that the citizens of Saudi Arabia donated 77 million dollars in ONE NIGHT'S telethon alone? The Media has carefully down played this fact as well the 500 Million dollars donated by the Saudi-based Islamic Bank. I watch theCBC quite regularly, butI did not see this kind of Arab generosity mentioned even byour trusted and (reasonably neutral) national media. It is true that the Saudi regimedonated only$30 million. But this amount is expected to be increased when the actual needs areassessed The claim was made (by the zionist controlled media), and it gradually grew shrill, that the Arabs didnt care for the South Asian Muslims. But theArabian people's legendary generosity, their solidarity with fellow Muslims and their sympathy and supportfor fellow humanity can not be erased even by the zionists]. Saudi telethon raises $77 million (CNN) -- A telethon for tsunami victims on Saudi state-run television has raised more than $77 million, and the Saudi-based Islamic Development Bank pledged an additional $500 million for affected countries. The telethon followed criticism that Saudi Arabia had not done enough to help in the tsunami relief efforts. Among those who contributed in the telethon were King Fahd who donated $5 million; Crown Prince Abdullah, $2.5 million; and Prince Sultan, $1.25 million. The biggest single donation came from Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who gave $17 million. Earlier this week, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia tripled its initial pledge to the tsunami efforts from $10 million to $30 million, saying it was doing so "in light of the recent assessment of the magnitude of the tragedy." The $500 million donation by the Islamic Development Bank matches the largest donation to date from an international financial institution. The World Bank also has pledged $500 million. The kingdom said all of its aid efforts will be coordinated through U.N. agencies. "Saudi Arabia will continue to assess the situation and calls upon the international community to step up efforts and to enhance coordination with the United Nations to deliver timely assistance to all those devastated by the tsunami," the kingdom said in a written statement. The $77 million raised in Thursday's telethon falls short of the $155 million raised by a 2002 telethon on Saudi television to help the families of Palestinian "martyrs." That event was held after the Israeli army launched a massive offensive in the West Bank refugee camp of Jenin. The prince also stoked controversy after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks against the United States. He donated $10 million for disaster relief to New York -- a donation that then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani rejected after Alwaleed suggested U.S. policies in the Middle East contributed to the attacks. ***{Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better.
