[IslamCity] CRITERIA AM MAN CONSIDER TO MARRY A WOMAN
QUESTION
I would like to know that What are the four criterias
can a man consider over a woman for marriage ?
According to reply to question 7254, i found the
following lines As you may know that you can marry a
woman for 4 things but that what would satify us is
the Deen. So there is everything right in marrying an
Alima and nothing wrong. Please give me the related
hadith or any related quranic verses. Jazakallahu
khair.
ANSWER
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, A
woman is normally sought in marriage for four reasons;
a) For her wealth, b) For her lineage, c) For her
beauty, and d) For her Deen. (You should) become
successful (by choosing one because) of her Deen. (If
you do not choose on the basis of Deen, then) you will
regret (lit. your hands will be rubbed in sand).

Iraq was top of the news; pronouncements about a civil war and sectarian violence were repeated incessantly. It was as if the US invasion had never happened and the killing of tens of thousands of civilians by the Americans was a surreal fiction. The Iraqis were mindless Arabs, haunted by religion, ethnic strife and the need to blow themselves up. Unctuous puppet politicians were paraded with no hint that their exercise yard was inside an American fortress. And when you left the lift, this followed you to your room, to the hotel gym, the airport, the next airport and the next country. Such is the power of America's corporate propaganda, which, as Edward Said pointed out in Culture and Imperialism , penetrates electronically with its equivalent of a party line. The party line changed the other day. For almost three years it was that al-Qaeda was the driving force behind the insurgency, led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a bloodthirsty Jordanian who was clearly being groomed for the kind of infamy Saddam Hussein enjoys. It mattered not that al-Zarqawi had never been seen alive and that only a fraction of the insurgents followed al-Qaeda. For the Americans, Zarqawi's role was to distract attention from the thing that almost all Iraqis oppose: the brutal Anglo-American occupation of their country. Now that al-Zarqawi has been replaced by sectarian violence and civil war, the big news is the attacks by Sunnis on Shia mosques and bazaars. The real news, which is not reported in the CNN mainstream, is that the Salvador Option has been invoked in Iraq. This is the campaign of terror by death squads armed and trained by the US, which attack Sunnis and Shias alike. The goal is the incitement of a real civil war and the break-up of Iraq, the original war aim of Bush's administration. The ministry of the interior in Baghdad, which is run by the CIA, directs the principal death squads. Their members are not exclusively Shia, as the myth goes. The most brutal are the Sunni-led Special Police Commandos, headed by former senior officers in Saddam's Ba'ath Party. This unit was formed and trained by CIA counter-insurgency experts, including veterans of the CIA's terror operations in central America in the 1980s, notably El Salvador. In his new book, Empire's Workshop (Metropolitan Books), the American historian Greg Grandin describes the Salvador Option thus: Once in office, [President] Reagan came down hard on central America, in effect letting his administration's most committed militarists set and execute policy. In El Salvador, they provided more than a million dollars a day to fund a lethal counter-insurgency campaign . . . All told, US allies in central America during Reagan's two terms killed over 300,000 people, tortured hundreds of thousands and drove millions into exile. Although the Reagan administration spawned the current Bushites, or neo-cons, the pattern was set earlier. In Vietnam, death squads trained, armed and directed by the CIA murdered up to 50,000 people in Operation Phoenix. In the mid-1960s in Indonesia CIA officers compiled death lists for General Suharto's killing spree during his seizure of power. After the 2003 invasion, it was only a matter of time before this venerable policy was applied in Iraq. According to the investigative writer Max Fuller (National Review Online), the key CIA manager of the interior ministry death squads cut his teeth in Vietnam before moving on to direct the US military mission in El Salvador. Professor Grandin names another central America veteran whose job now is to train a ruthless counter- insurgent force made up of ex-Ba'athist thugs. Another, says Fuller, is well-known for his production of death lists. A secret militia run by the Americans is the Facilities Protection Service, which has been responsible for bombings. The British and US Special Forces, concludes Fuller, in conjunction with the [US-created] intelligence services at the Iraqi defence ministry, are fabricating insurgent bombings of Shias. On 16 March, Reuters reported the arrest of an American security contractor who was found with weapons and explosives in his car. Last year, two Britons disguised as Arabs were caught with a car full of weapons and explosives; British forces bulldozed the Basra prison to rescue them. The Boston Globe recently reported: The FBI's counter-terrorism unit has launched a broad investigation of US-based theft rings after discovering that some of the vehicles used in deadly car bombings in Iraq, including attacks that killed US troops and Iraqi civilians, were probably stolen in the United States, according to senior government officials. solidarity day was observed on Friday with the Palestinians fighting for
their liberation from Israeli occupation. Demonstrations were held outside
mosques after Friday prayers besides several other main points in the city
where MMA leaders addressed to the participants.
Besides,
ulema and khateebs in their Friday sermons highlighted the cause of
Palestinians and termed the economic blockade of Hamas government by
Washington as economic murder of an oppressed nation. They condemned
Washington for violating its own standards of human rights and democracy
to protect its illegitimate child in the Middle East.

s in his sermon at Mansoorah mosque expressed sorrow that military
dictators wanted to keep Islam out of Islamabad and have forgotten that
people in Georgia, Nepal, Thailand and Palestine threw the oppressive
regimes out of power through the force of their street and vote power. He
said the people of Pakistan extremely worried with price hike,
unemployment and lawlessness will soon launch a forceful and organized
struggle in Islamabad to drive the military dictatorship out of power for
ever.
He
said MMA is trying to enforce rule of Almighty in every department of life
because it is what meant by Islam. He expressed sorrow that Gen Musharraf
who captured power through barrel of gun is so weak himself that he could
not address an elected parliament of the country so far which he always
call as the biggest symbol of his 'uniformed' democracy. He said Gen
Musharraf not only ignored parliament for consulting on important national
affairs but now he has even called the parliament as
'uncivilised'.

said that military rulers have forgotten that the same America upon whose
dictation they have been killing their own brothers in the name of Al
Qaeda, but on the other hands the so called think tanks and organizations
run on US funding have recently threw a slap on their face by declaring
Pakistan a failed state. He said the same US is insisting to deny the
democratic victory of Hamas to violate the mandate given by Palestinian
people. He appealed to the people to donate whole heartedly in the
Palestine fund established by JI Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad with an initial
amount of 10 million rupees in order to participate in the struggle to
liberate Palestine from Israeli occupation.

[IslamCity] The Fallacy of Islamic Socialism
Islam is a religion that by virtue of its moral standards and values
established in the world a great tradition of dignified fair dealing
and created a society more free from wide spread cruelty and social
oppression than any society had been in the world before. Islam
provides only broad priciples for developing our economic and
political system.
Our Politicians in Pakistan in 1960s had coined a phrase Islamic
Socailism and nationalized many industries, banks, schools and
colleges and thus the industrial progress slowed down. And now
after Pakistan's almost 50% revnues goes in foreign debts
servicing, the Government is in the process of denationalization
because the public sector corporations started suffering huge
losses due to corruption and nepotism. The international aid
agencies do not favor nationlization.
Socialism is an economic and social doctrine that demands state
ownership and control of the means of production and distribution
of wealth, to be achieved through peaceful, democratic, and
parliamentary means. The doctrine advocates nationalization of
natural resources, basic industries, banking and credit facilities,
and public utilities.
Capitalism is an economic system in which private individuals and
business bodies carry on the production and exchange of goods and
services through a complex network of prices and markets. In a Free
Market or Capitalistic society basic production facilities
land and capital are privately owned and economic activity is
organized and coordinated through the interaction of buyers and
sellers (or producers) in markets. Islam lays down moral standards
for all such activities.
In Free Market economy, owners of land and capital as well as the
workers they employ are free to pursue their own self-interests in
seeking maximum gain from the use of their resources and labor in
production. But Islam prohibits consumer exploitation and black
marketing, hoarding in the same manner as we see in Consumer
Protection Laws in countries like USA and Europe as Consumers are
free to spend their incomes in ways that they believe will yield the
greatest satisfaction.
History has indicated that economies where the producers are forced
by competition to use their resources in ways that will best satisfy
the wants of consumers, progress rapidly with a minimum of government
supervision.

The Human Relief Committee of the Arab Physicians Syndicate launched a
public campaign under the slogan of Palestine will never starve to
collect donations for the Palestinian Authority to ease embargo by western
governments. The Palestinian Culture Minister, Dr. Attallah Abu Al Sabh,
attended the launching ceremony in addition to several other prominent
figures including Dr. Abdel Moneum Abu El Fotoh, General Secretary of the
Arab Physicians Syndicate and member of the Muslim Brotherhood Executive
Bureau; Dr. Aziz Sedki, former Egyptian PM and head of the National Front
for Change (NFC); Dr. Hamdy Al Said, head of the Egyptian Physicians
Syndicate; and a delegate from the Arab League headed by Dr. Hussien
Hamouda. In its first day, the campaign received pledges for more than two
milliondollar in donations from the privatesector and
individuals.
In his speech, Dr. Abu el-Fotoh asserted that the money collected
during this campaign should not be called donations but rather a duty
towards the brothers in Palestine. He also called for all national forces
and civil society institutions-especially the media- to participate in
this campaign to ensure its success.
On Friday May 12, 2006, the campaign will organize a
telethon live on major satellite channels with a goal to collect a million
dollar in two hours starting 5:00 PM GMT. Several
prominent figures were invited to attend the telethon, including Sheikh
Youssef Al Karadawy, Dr. Amr Moussa, Arab League Secretary, and Mr.
Mohamed Hassanein Hikal, a famous political writer and historian.
Ikhwanweb invites those interested in helping Palestinian people to
donate to this campaign. Money collected will be used directly to meet the
basic needs of Palestinians. Ikhwanweb will alsokeep an update
on the next Fridays event

[IslamCity] Tribe of Khazraj coming to Islam
Peace be upon you,
Asim ibn Umar ibn Qatada told me on the authority of some of the
leaders of his tribe that they said that when the apostle met them he
learned by inquiry that they were the Khazraj and were also allies of
the Jews of Medina.
He invite them to sit with him inviting them to Islam, reciting to
them the Quran. Now God had prepared the way for Islam in that they
live side by side with the Jews who were people of the scriptures and
knowledge, while they themselves were polytheists an idolaters. They
had often raided them (the Jews) in their district and whenever bad
feeling arose the Jews use to say to them `A prophet will be sent
soon. His day is at hand. We shall follow him and kill you by his aid,
in the same way the Aad and Iram perished'
So when they heard the apostle's message they said to one another
`This is the very Prophet whom the Jews warned us of. Do not let his
message reach them before it reaches our us!'
Thereupon, they accepted Islam saying, `We have left our tribe, for no
tribe is as divided by rancour and hatred as they are. Perhaps God
will unite them through you (i.e. the Prophet). So let us go to them
and invite them to this religion of yours; and if God unites them in
it, then no man will be mightier than you'. Thus they returned to
Medina as believers.
There were six of these men from Khazraj. When they arrived in Medina
they told their tribesmen about the Prophet, inviting them to accept
Islam until it became so well known amongst their tribe that there was
not a single home belonging to their tribe in Medina that was not a
Muslim home.

The account shows two things. Disunity within the tribe including
occassional raids on the Jewish residents of Medina and fear of
repurcussion by the Prophet the Jews spoke of who would come to
destroy them. What I wonder was the initial, knee jerk reaction by
these six men? Was it a fear of their tribe being squashed as the
Jewish residents had said motivating them to accept Islam before the
Jewish residents did? Was it a desire to bring harmony and unity back
to their tribe such that they could be trumped up with pride? Was it a
sincere appreciation of what Islam taught? Was it a combination of all
three, or something even something else?
In life people choose certain courses of action for a reason, whether
that reason is the right reason to do that action or not is another
matter. In this case these six men accepted Islam and they invited
members of their tribe in Medina to do the same. Doing so enabled
their tribe to find a level footing whose knock on effect brought unity.
As people, whoever we are, wherever we are, we need to unite. Unite on
the grounds of honesty, integrity, justice, fairness, and sincerty of
action; and may Allah Almighty have mercy on us all, ameen.

She sees their mission as one to "fill in the gaps that prevent a solid framework for religion". "We are going to teach a tolerant Islam by focussing on the underprivileged classes," she added. They will notably work with women and children in poor ghettoes seen as fertile ground for extremist recruiters. The idea of the Morchidat, spearheaded by King Mohammed VI and the government, took off after Islamic extremist attacks in the Moroccan economic capital Casablanca on May 16, 2003 claimed 45 lives -- including the 12 bombers -- and left dozens of others wounded. The King -- who is a descendant of Islam's founder, the Prophet Mohamed, and enjoys wide powers -- had already started reshaping religious structures to rein in any extremist drift in his North African country, which borders Algeria where violence between government forces and armed Islamic extremists has caused more than 150,000 deaths since 1992. But the synchronized suicide bomb attacks that hit Jewish and foreign targets gave new urgency to the initiative. More than 2,000 people were arrested in vast police sweeps after the May bombings as the king vowed the attacks would be the last to rock Morocco. Investigators concluded that those behind the incident had indeed sought recruits in the teeming slums around Casablanca, Morocco's biggest city. Marzouk, a young married woman with a diploma in Arab literature who said she knows the Koran by heart, was quick to specify she is "not going to take the place of an imam". "The imamate in Islam is restricted solely to men who are apt at leading prayers, notably those on Friday," the Islamic holy day, she said. "The Morchidat will be in charge of leading religious discussions, give courses in Islam, give moral support to people in difficulty and guide the faithful towards a tolerant Islam," she added. Another graduate, Leila Fares, a lively young woman who holds a degree in Islamic studies, said she saw the Morchidat's role as promoting "the true face of Islam". "We will help attenuate any drift towards Islamic extremism," she said, stressing that "an overall approach is needed to dealing with radical Islam". During the year-long course, the curriculum ranged from Islamic studies to psychology, sociology, computer skills, economy, law and business management. So whoever forsakes those doubtful things lest he may commit a sin, will definitely avoid what is clearly illegal; and whoever indulges in these (suspicious) doubtful things bravely, is likely to commit what is clearly illegal. Sins are Allah's Hima (
i.e. private pasture) and whoever pastures (his sheep) near it, is likely to get in it at any moment.
