Bismillah [IslamCity] In ISLAM Every Day is Mother's Day - An Excellent Books & Audios

2008-05-13 Thread Asifa AM
One day a man came to see the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon
him. It seemed that he was trying to solve something but couldn't quite work it
out. So he asked the Prophet. ''Tell me, O Prophet!'' I have many relatives and
many friends whom I love, and whom I wish to care for and help. But I often
find it difficult to decide which of them has the greatest claim upon me? Which
of them should come first?'' The Prophet replied immediately, ''Your mother
should come first and before all others.''
The man was very pleased to have this clear guidance from the Prophet.
But of course there were all his other relatives and his friends, so he asked
''and after my mother, who has the greatest claim upon me?'' The Prophet's
reply this second time surprised him. ''Your mother!'' he said again.

The man wondered why the Prophet was repeating himself. Perhaps he had not
spoken clearly, the man thought, so he asked the question again, ''What I want
to know is, after my mother, who has the greatest claim upon me? Again the
Prophet said ''your mother!''

Your mother, your mother, your mother!

The Prophet had now said it three times. Slowly, the man realized why he
had done so. ''The Prophet means that my mother is extremely important, so much
so that my duty to her must be stressed over and over again. Even so, the man's
thoughts ran on, ''what about all the others I love and wish to care for?''
Still uncertain and wanting to know more, he once again turned to the Prophet
and said, ''and after my mother, who comes after her? Is there anyone besides
her?'' The Prophet then replied ''after your mother, your father.'' ''And
then?'' asked the man. ''Then people who are nearest to you,'' said the
Prophet. Allah's peace and blessings be upon the Prophet.

Da'wah - calling others to Islam

Question:
How should we call people to Islam?

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
Allaah created man and caused him to dwell on this earth, but He did not
forsake him. Rather He gave him what he needs of food, drink and clothing, and
revealed to him throughout the ages a path to follow and be guided by. The
interests and happiness of mankind at every time and in every place depend upon
following the path of Allaah and rejecting all others:
"And verily, this (i.e. Allaah's Commandments mentioned in the above two Verses
151 and 152) is My straight path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths,
for they will separate you away from His path. This He has ordained for you
that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)"[al-An'aam 6:153 - interpretation
of the meaning]
Islam is the last of the heavenly religions and the Qur'aan is the last of the
heavenly Books. Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the
last of the Prophets and Messengers. Allaah commanded him to convey this
religion to all of mankind:
"this Qur'aan has been revealed to me that I may therewith warn you and
whomsoever it may reach"[al-An'aam 6:18]
Allaah sent His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
with Islam to all of mankind, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Say (O Muhammad): 'O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of
Allaah'"[al-A'raaf 7:158]
Da'wah or calling others to Islam is the best of deeds, because it involves
guiding people to the Straight Path and to that which will bring them happiness
in this world and in the Hereafter:
"And who is better in speech than he who [says: 'My Lord is Allaah (believes in
His Oneness),' and then stands firm (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men)
to Allaah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: 'I am one
of the Muslims.'"[Fussilat 41:33 - interpretation of the meaning]
Calling others to Islam is an honourable mission. This is the work of the
Prophets and Messengers. The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) explained that his mission in life, and the mission of his followers, is
to call people to Allaah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Say (O Muhammad): 'This is my way; I invite unto Allaah (i.e. to the Oneness
of Allaah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me
(also must invite others to Allaah, i.e. to the Oneness of Allaah - Islamic
Monotheism with sure knowledge). And Glorified and Exalted be Allaah (above all
that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikoon
(polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah;
those who worship others along with Allaah or set up rivals or partners to
Allaah)'"[Yoosuf 12:108]
The Muslims in general and the scholars in particular are commanded to call
people to Islam, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good
(Islam), enjoining Al-Ma'roof (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam
orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all
that Islam has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful"[Aal 'Imraan
3:104]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Convey from me
even if it is (only) one aayah." (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3461)
Calling people to Allaah is an important task and a glorious mission, because
it means calling people to worship Allaah alone. It means bringing them forth
from darkness to the light, planting goodness in the place of evil and truth in
the place of falsehood. Hence whoever does this needs to have knowledge,
understanding, patience, forbearance, gentleness and kindness. He needs to give
of his wealth and of himself, and he needs to understand people's circumstances
and habits. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Invite (mankind, O Muhammad) to the way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom
(i.e. with the Divine Revelation and the Qur'aan) and fair preaching, and argue
with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone
astray from His path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided"
[al-Nahl 16:125]
Allaah blessed His Messenger with the words (interpretation of the meaning):
"And by the Mercy of Allaah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been
severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass
over (their faults), and ask (Allaah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them
in the affairs" [Aal 'Imraan 3:159]
The daa'iyah (caller) may be faced with debates in his da'wah activities,
especially with the People of the Book. Allaah has commanded us, if it reaches
the point of debat

Subject: Admirable anti-Zionist Jews #1: Edwin Samuel Montagu

Note the early death of this Jewish statesman who opposed Zionism and
resisted the agenda of the Conservatives at Versailles during the WWI Peace
Conference.

 received:

Edwin Samuel Montagu on Zionism (1917):

"...I assume that it means that Mahommedans and Christians are to make way
for the Jews and that the Jews should be put in all positions of preference
and should be peculiarly associated with Palestine in the same way that
England is with the English or France with the French, that Turks and other
Mahommedans in Palestine will be regarded as foreigners, just in the same way
as Jews will hereafter be treated as foreigners in every country but
Palestine. Perhaps also citizenship must be granted only as a result of a
religious test."

-- From a 1917 memo to the British Cabinet by Edwin Samuel Montagu
(Secretary of State for India 1917-1922 Montagu was the second Jew to enter
the British Cabinet but was strongly opposed to Zionism, which he called "a
mischievous political creed." He opposed the Balfour Declaration of 1917,
which he considered "anti-semitic" and whose terms he managed to modify.
Montagu resigned office in 1922 and died in 1924 at the age of 45.

Montagu also led the Indian delegation at the Paris Peace Conference, where
he opposed plans for dividing Turkey (including the Greek occupation of Smyrna
and the projected removal of the Sultan from Constantinople). On this subject,
at the Council of Four on 17 May 1919, he introduced representatives of Muslim
India (including the Aga Khan) and urged that Muslim peoples were beginning to
see the Conference as "taking sides against Islam".

Montagu was primarily responsible for the Montagu-Chelmsford Reforms which led
to the Government of India Act 1919 which committed the British to the
eventual evolution of India to dominion status.

Bismillah [IslamCity] usa: U.S. Media Ignores Estimate of 1 Million Iraqi Deaths

2008-05-13 Thread Shahid.
The Iraq Holocaust.

U.S. Media Ignores Estimate of 1 Million Iraqi Deaths
August 14, 2007

Yesterday a radio interviewer in South Africa asked me what had been the
response of the "mainstream media in the United States" to Just Foreign
Policy's ongoing estimate of the Iraqi death toll from the U.S. invasion and
occupation, which on Thursday crossed the one million mark.

Sadly, I had to report that it has been ignored by mainstream media, even the
wire services. But this is hardly surprising. A main motivation for
constructing the web counter was to keep the "Lancet study" alive. The "Lancet
study," you'll recall, was a study published last fall in the British medical
journal The Lancet, which estimated that more than 600,000 Iraqis had had been
killed as a result of the invasion as of July 2006. The media largely buried
the Lancet study when it was published - and have largely ignored the question
of the overall death toll from the U.S. invasion - so it's little surprise that
they have ignored our attempt to shine a light on this question.

The Lancet study is the only existing study that uses the method accepted all
over the world for estimating deaths due to large-scale violent conflict: a
cluster survey. Its principal deficit for understanding the current situation
is that the survey it was based on is now a year old, so that when people want
to invoke the Lancet study to describe the death toll, they are likely to say,
"a year ago the death toll was over 600,000" - leaving out what has happened
since. Since the Lancet study is "old news," it's progressively easier to
ignore it over time. It was this problem that gave us the idea of constructing
an ongoing, rough update.

The tally of deaths reported in the Western media by Iraq Body Count, although
it gives an inaccurate picture of the overall death toll, does have the
advantage that it is regularly updated. So while the Iraq Body Count tally, by
itself, doesn't help us understand the overall death toll, it does give us some
information about the trend over time, because one can compare, for example,
the Iraq Body Count tally today with the Iraq Body Count tally from July 2006.

Thus, we constructed our ongoing online estimate - for which we provide the
code so you can include it on your own web page - by extrapolating from the
Lancet estimate using the trend provided by Iraq Body Count.

Our extrapolation assumes that Iraq Body Count is capturing a fixed proportion
of the true level of deaths over time. This is a conservative assumption,
because it is likely that Iraq Body Count is capturing a smaller share of the
true death toll over time, as reporting from Iraq becomes progressively more
difficult. By assuming that Iraq Body Count captures a constant share, we will
tend to underestimate the true death toll.

Note that the number we focus on is the Lancet estimate of excess deaths due to
violence. Thus, we understate the death toll by ignoring, say, increased deaths
due to cholera which could be attributed, at least in part, to the destruction
resulting from the U.S. invasion and occupation.

Note further that a straight-line extrapolation from the Lancet study -
ignoring any increase in the death rate in the last year from the average
between March, 2003 and July, 2006 - an average that includes the first year of
the occupation, when by all accounts the death rate was lower - would still
result in more than 750,000 excess deaths due to violence.

Increasingly, the U.S. occupation is described as a passive onlooker to the
violence. This is deeply misleading for two reasons. First, the civil war - or
civil wars - that have been unleashed in Iraq was a predictable - and predicted
- result of the U.S. invasion. Everything is predicted if one searches enough,
but in this case, for example, James Baker gave the threat of unleashing a
civil war as a key reason why the U.S. didn't go to Baghdad in 1991, so it's
absurd to treat this as an unforeseeable consequence. Second, the picture is
being obscured by underreporting in the U.S. of deaths from U.S. air strikes,
raids, and shooting at checkpoints.

Why does this matter? Obviously, we have a responsibility to understand the
world as best we can, and nowhere is this responsibility greater than in trying
to understand the consequences of the actions of our government. But the
question is particularly urgent, because there is a major effort underway to
rehabilitate the war politically, by cherry-picking - and misinterpreting -
current developments. The surge is working, we are told: it must be given more
time. If the scale of the overall death toll from the U.S. invasion becomes
part of the debate, this sleight-of-hand will be much harder to maintain.

"Terrible human rights crime in Gaza"

**A human rights crime*
*Jimmy Carter* - The Guardian - Thursday, May 8 2008

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/may/08/israelandthepalestinians

*The world must stop standing idle while the people of Gaza are treated with
such cruelty*

*The world is witnessing a terrible human rights crime in Gaza, where a
million and a half human beings are being imprisoned with almost no access
to the outside world. An entire population is being brutally punished.*

*This gross mistreatment of the Palestinians in Gaza was escalated
dramatically by Israel, with United States backing, after political
candidates representing Hamas won a majority of seats in the Palestinian
Authority parliament in 2006. The election was unanimously judged to be
honest and fair by all international observers. *

*Israel and the US refused to accept the right of Palestinians to form a
unity government with Hamas and Fatah and now, after internal strife, Hamas
alone controls Gaza. Forty-one of the 43 victorious Hamas candidates who
lived in the West Bank have been imprisoned by Israel, plus an additional 10
who assumed positions in the short-lived coalition cabinet.*

*Regardless of one's choice in the partisan struggle between Fatah and Hamas
within occupied Palestine, we must remember that economic sanctions and
restrictions on the supply of water, food, electricity and fuel are causing
extreme hardship among the innocent people in Gaza, about one million of
whom are refugees.*

*Israeli bombs and missiles periodically strike the area, causing high
casualties among both militants and innocent women and children. Prior to
the highly publicised killing of a woman and her four children last week,
this pattern had been illustrated by a report from B'Tselem, the leading
Israeli human rights organisation, which stated that 106 Palestinians were
killed between February 27 and March 3. Fifty-four of them were civilians,
and 25 were under 18 years of age.*

*On a recent trip through the Middle East, I attempted to gain a better
understanding of the crisis. One of my visits was to Sderot, a community of
about 20,000 in southern Israel that is frequently struck by rockets fired
from nearby Gaza. I condemned these attacks as abominable acts of terrorism,
since most of the 13 victims during the past seven years have been
non-combatants. *

*Subsequently, I met with leaders of Hamas - a delegation from Gaza and the
top officials in Damascus. I made the same condemnation to them, and urged
that they declare a unilateral ceasefire or orchestrate with Israel a mutual
agreement to terminate all military action in and around Gaza for an
extended period.*

*They responded that such action by them in the past had not been
reciprocated, and they reminded me that Hamas had previously insisted on a
ceasefire throughout Palestine, including Gaza and the West Bank, which
Israel had refused. Hamas then made a public proposal of a mutual ceasefire
restricted to Gaza, which the Israelis also rejected.*

*There are fervent arguments heard on both sides concerning blame for a lack
of peace in the Holy Land. Israel has occupied and colonised the Palestinian
West Bank, which is approximately a quarter the size of the nation of Israel
as recognised by the international community. Some Israeli religious
factions claim a right to the land on both sides of the Jordan river, others
that their 205 settlements of some 500,000 people are necessary for
"security". *

*All Arab nations have agreed to recognise Israel fully if it will comply
with key United Nations resolutions. Hamas has agreed to accept any
negotiated peace settlement between the president of the Palestinian
Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, and Israel's prime minister, Ehud Olmert, provided
it is approved in a referendum of the Palestinian people. *

*This holds promise of progress, but despite the brief fanfare and positive
statements at the peace conference last November in Annapolis, the process
has gone backwards. Nine thousand new Israeli housing units have been
announced in Palestine; the number of roadblocks within the West Bank has
increased; and the stranglehold on Gaza has been tightened.*

*It is one thing for other leaders to defer to the US in the crucial peace
negotiations, but the world must not stand idle while innocent people are
treated cruelly. It is time for strong voices in Europe, the US, Israel and
elsewhere to speak out and condemn the human rights tragedy that has
befallen the Palestinian people.*

Bismillah [IslamCity] Honesty in Islam

2008-05-13 Thread `..*Minahil *..`
Email by Khalid Latif

Significance of Honesty in Islam Honesty is one of the greatest
of all moral virtues. From it springs forth many of the noblest of human
qualities like integrity, chastity, and valor. Some people might suppose that
honesty is restricted to words. This is not the case. Honesty can manifest
itself in our actions as well as in our innermost state of being.
The great scholar and ethical thinker, al-Muhâsibî, once said:
“For honesty to be complete, it must exist in three things. It must exist in
the heart as one’s faith, it must exist in the intentions behind one’s deeds,
and it must be present in the words that one speaks.”
Honesty penetrates to the innermost fiber of a person when his inner being is
in harmony with his outer self. A person’s deeds are honest only when he
practices what he professes. Dishonesty in deed is more despicable than
dishonesty in word, for it is naught but a hypocritical display of sincerity.
This is what the brothers of Joseph (peace be upon him) did when they came with
Joseph’s bloody clothing to their father.
Allah says: “So they came with his shirt stained with false blood.” [Sûrah
Yûsuf: 18]
Allah warns us saying: “O you who believe, why do you say what you do not do?
It is loathsome indeed with Allah that you say what you do not do.” [Sûrah
al-Saff: 3]
Truth in word is the most familiar and obvious kind of truth, since every
statement that is inconsistent with reality is obviously a lie.
Allah says: “Verily those who fabricate a lie against Allah will not find
success.”
Allah commands the believers, saying: “O you who believe, fear Allah and be
among those who are honest.”
Allah gives glad tidings to the believers who are honest. He says: “Allah
will reward the honest people for their honesty.”
Allah informs us that our honesty will bring us good even in this world: “And
when a matter is resolved upon, it would be best for them if they were true to
Allah.”
And of course, honesty will be of doubtless benefit to us in the Hereafter.
Allah says: “This is the day that the honest people will benefit from their
honesty.” [Sûrah al-Mâ’idah: 119]
Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) was renowned for his honesty long
before he began to receive revelation and became Allah’s Messenger. He had been
known among his people for years as al-Amîn (the Trustworthy) .
The Prophet (peace be upon him) informed us of the effects that both honesty
and dishonesty have on our personalities when he said: “Honesty brings about
security and lying fosters doubts.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: “Honesty leads to righteousness
and righteousness leads to Paradise . A man remains honest and concerned about
honesty until he is recorded as an honest man with Allah. Lying leads to
sinfulness and sinfulness leads to the Fire. A man keeps lying and remains
partial to lies until he is recorded as a liar with Allah.” [Sahîh al-Bukharî
and Sahîh Muslim]
He also explained the effects that honesty and dishonesty have on our
interpersonal dealings: “Honesty and clarity are blessed for both parties to a
sale, while concealment and deceit destroy the blessings of their sale.” [Sahîh
al-Bukharî and Sahîh Muslim]
We must be honest in our relationship with Allah. There are many dimensions
to this most important expression of honesty. There is our sincerity to Allah.
Then there is being cognizant that Allah is ever watchful of what we do. There
is the sense of humility and shame that we must feel before Him. If we truly
want to be honest in our relationship with Allah, we must become so fully
sincere to Him that there remains in our hearts no other motive for what we do
but to seek His pleasure. We must care nothing for the thanks and appreciation
of our fellow men. We can achieve this by making our greatest concern the
attainment of Allah’s mercy. We must be constantly aware that Allah is ever
watchful over us. This will make us feel too shy to ever willingly disobey
Allah.
Honesty with other people is also extremely important. There are many aspects
to this as well.
First, we must be honest in our dispensation towards others. We should not
behave deceptively and present a false face to people. Instead, we must be
genuine and straightforward with people as much as possible.
We must be honest in what we say. This requires from us to be careful to
ascertain the truth of the news that we hear before we go ahead and pass it on
to others. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “It is enough to make a person
a liar that he tells others everything that he hears.”
We must be honest in giving advice to people. We should be sincere in our
advice and truly do our best to help people avoid misfortune and attain what is
good for them.
We need to be even more honest with our spouses. We must be able to confide
in them and speak freely to the

knowledge of Islam in stages also with me. I became a father 1st in 1997 and I
named my first born "Imanuel Jabril" Martinez out of respect for Christianity,
Islam and the family. My second was born in 2001 and was named "Issac Ali"
Martinez. Now my brother Ali was killed in 1992 in the Bronx New
York and many of the Christian members of our family in some ways blamed Islam
for his death and for my nephews incarceration and then came "911". so I
continued my life walking in limbo so to speak and practiced neither until my
separation of marriage and a motorcycle accident that left me Spleenless and
near amputated leg looking to God and believe it or not, Thanking The Almighty
for it all. So I went to my ex-wife one day and apologized and expressed to her
my regret of not sharing nearly enough religion with her in all our years
together especially due to the fact that she is from Cuba and had so little
knowledge of God and religion. So I expressed to her my desire to live a
righteous life and teach our children like wise and asked if she would aid me.
I told her that I was sorry for buying her a Bible that was in "old Spanish"
and difficult to understand and that if I bought her a newer Spanish version
would she read it and help me raise the children in the knowledge
Of God? She answered "No. I don't think so and frankly don't bother' She had
no interest. I told her fine but not to interfere with me and (raising in the
knowledge of God) the Boys when they are with me. I went home that night and
wept and prayed and demanded that God show me once and for all "AM I A
CHRISTIAN, MUSLIM, BUDDHIST, JEW, JEDI OR WHAT?" Because I did not want my
children to suffer in this life or the after life because of my ignorance. In
order to teach them I had to be taught and I had to be right. So I typed into
my Netflix account search: Islam, God, Christianity, Judaism etc. went on line
and did the same and read all I could and watched all I could on the matter and
most of all prayed. I visited the local Mosque and got literature on Islam. I
read very briefly about Jesus and the divinity being conceived in 325 a.d in a
foot note but didn't think much more about it for I had a lot of videos to
watch. I started to see the Truth that the culture and
practice of Islam was not at all how the media portrayed it. It was not
intimidating but actually quite inviting. It was beautiful, peaceful, powerful
and oh so Inspiring. But the Christ and the divinity issue was so strongly
instilled in me it held me back. I needed to know and understand more. Then
"It" arrived. The video "History Channel's a History of God" a search for
monotheism: Jews, Christians and Muslims. It talked in dept about the myths of
Christmas and and Christ and the divinity and the "Trinity" and "The Counsel of
Nicea" That The trinity and divinity of Christ came 325 a.d. That was It. I
took Shahada right there and then. I went to the Mosque the following Friday
03/30/07 after calling my nephew and sharing what I have learned and asking him
to go with me. I took the Qu'ran and Islam and ran with it and have been
running ever since Alhumdullillah. That's My story in brief. Asalmu Alaikum and
Jazak Allahu Khairun for your time.

*The most propagandized country on earth, the US*
Sixty years of massive, ongoing, coldly calculated human rights abuses
against the Palestinian people.

That's the legacy of the State of Israel.

Americans pay the bills for this tyranny and our hopelessly corrupt news
media and elected officials go along with it because it's politically
expedient.

Note: The videos of IfAmericansKnew.org are constantly removed by YouTube

I have no idea how long this one will be up.

*The Three-Thousand-Year Battle for Palestine*

The Holy Land has been fought over for more than three thousand years.
Today's battle between Zionists and Palestinians is just the latest chapter.
Three books can fill you in with the history: Madina to Jerusalem,
Encounters with the Byzantine Empire and Palestine, Beginner's Guide, both
by Ismail Adam Patel, editor of Al-Aqsa journal, and A History of
Palestinian Resistance by Dr. Daud Abdullah, lecturer in Islamic Studies at
Birkbeck College, University of London.

Madina to Jerusalem is a short history of the Muslims' expansion in to Sham
after the death of the Prophet (pbuh), a period which is not usually written
about in great detail. This book is clearly written and suitable for people
of a young age, as well as those who do not have much time to read more
densely -written histories. Thematically, it is divided into three parts:
the first gives an account of the battles over Sham between the Byzantine
and Persian empires, up to the seventh century CE; the second tells of how
the Muslims gradually spread to the borders of the Byzantine empire and
eventually took control of Sham; the third makes an interesting exploration
into the motives for Muslim expansion, weighing up the evidence from
different historical sources.

As Patel explains, the temple of Solomon (as) was destroyed, captured by the
Persians, then captured by the Greeks, who dedicated the site to Zeus;
captured by the Jews, who ruled it for a century; taken over by the Romans,
who built a new temple to Jupiter (Zeus); ruled by the Christians, who
banished the Jews; taken over again by the Persians, who, with their Jewish
allies, massacred the Christians; then taken over by the Muslims, who
allowed both Christians and Jews freedom of worship.

Part one is somewhat stiffly written, and could do with more rigorous
editing, as there are some repetitions and grammatical errors. Patel also
writes as if he assumes that the reader already has some knowledge of
Byzantine history, suddenly mentioning the names of certain characters
without much introduction. It is when he moves into part two that the
writing comes alive and he turns history into a readable narrative, as the
Muslims gradually move in on Sham, eventually taking over its towns. Here he
gives an interesting account of the rules of engagement and of military
strategies.

What can be seen from the Muslims' take over, which Patel calls "liberation"
– a word that smacks uncomfortably of the Soviet Union – is that it was
standard practice for the Muslims to allow the inhabitants of Sham to
continue living as they had before: to maintain their property, go about
their business and worship freely according to their religion. The strength
of the Muslim empire came about, therefore, from allowing a multi-cultural,
pluralistic society. There was no interest in forcing that society to become
a homogenous Islamic state.

In part three, Patel successfully disproves any assertion that the Muslims
expanded for material reasons: after they conquered Sham, there was no mass
emigration from Arabia. Quite literally, they saw it as their duty to spread
the message of Islam or to collect the jizya from those who preferred not to
convert.

Palestine, Beginner's Guide is set out like a text book and would be
ideal for teaching in schools. It is also good for adults who may find the
political

complexities of the issue difficult to grasp at times. It is divided into
thirty-two short chapters, with photos, illustrations, fact boxes and
quotations. This is a balanced account, which tells of the history of Jews
in Europe and their persecution for the last thousand years ("1391: 50,000
Jews killed on the Island of Majorca; 1420: Jewish community annihilated in
Toulouse, France"), but which also gives a succinct and informative account
of the architects of Zionism and

*Defination of Islam: *

Islam is to submit to Allah with Tawheed, and surrendering one's full
obedience to Allah, and leaving of shirk and innovation and their people
(people of shirk and innovation).

*Proofs: *

* *

[003:019] Truly, the religion with Allâh is Islâm.

[005:003] And have chosen for you Islâm as your religion.

[039:054] "And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic
Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him (in Islâm) before the torment
comes upon you, (and) then you will not be helped.

[002.132] Then die not except in the Faith of Islâm (as Muslims – Islâmic
Monotheism)."

[003:102] And die not except in a state of Islâm [as Muslims (with complete
submission to Allâh)].

[003:083] Do they seek other than the religion of Allâh (the true Islâmic
Monotheism worshipping none but Allâh Alone), while to Him submitted all
creatures in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly. And to Him
shall they all be returned.

[003:085] And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be
accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.

[019:048] "And I (ibrahim) shall turn away from you (his father) and from
those whom you invoke besides Allâh. And I shall call upon my Lord and I
hope that I shall not be unblest in my invocation to my Lord." [*Shaykh
Sahih ibn Sad as-Shuhaymee* stated this aya as proof for last part of the

Bismillah [IslamCity] Body Piercing

2008-05-13 Thread adil naveed
  Body Piercing
  Q. I want to know if it is permissible for a female to pierce her nose and
belly button.
  A. It is not permissible for a female to pierce her belly button as this is
the practice of loose and immoral women. A Muslim woman is, by nature,
shameful, modest and bashful.
It is permissible for a female to pierce her nose. (Raddul Muhtaar, Vol: 6,

If this is the beginning of the end of the Wahhabi-Harriri-Bush-axis
