We wanted the Muslims to see for themselves what we are really doing to establish this deen in this country; we were offering a place to stay, so that our guests would not have to spend in hotels. However do to time, finances and other responsibilities of the Muslims abroad, no one was able to come. May Allah (T) bless those Muslims and their love ones, for helping us with books, pamphlets, a good advice and encouragements to continue with this cause, the list is too long to mention them all. However, Allah (t) knows who they are that helped us and will receive their blessings in this life and the hereafter, amen!!! COKE and SPARLETTA amongst others have admitted to having used ethanol in their flavouring essence. The reasoning that Ethanol is not KHAMR as professed by many scholars is pure deception by shaitaan and the kuffaar.

The same can be said for our Canadian aboriginal people who, more than a century and a half ago, often fought against the white settlers and the confiscation of their native lands. Even though they fought, does that mean it was right to put them on reserves to live in Third World conditions, and force them into punishing residential schools? Was that right? I think even Mr Cotler would agree it was not right. Thousands of Indians were killed by the Canadian military and police, more were taken from their families and still more died of disease, poverty and neglect. It was not right. The Palestinian people did not accept the division of Palestine/Israel. Does that mean they should forever be condemned to living in refugee camps, with no rights, clean water or sanitation? Should Palestinians have more and more of their land forcibly taken by Israeli settlers, cantonised by settler bypass roads, and literally starved into submission? Given the FACTS ON THE GROUND, Mr Cotler, as a human rights advocate, should think again. Rather, it was the result of the Palestinian and Arab leadership rejecting the UN resolution calling for the establishment of both a Jewish state and a Palestinian-Arab state. The Jewish leadership accepted the resolution, but the Palestinian and Arab leadership did not, which they had a right to do. Outcry after French court rules on virginity Outcry after French court annuls marriage because bride wasn't virgin By ELAINE GANLEY Associated Press Writer Jun 4, 2008 http://www.newsweek.com/id/140023 (PARIS) The bride said she was a virgin. When her new husband discovered that was a lie, he went to court to annul the marriage - and a French judge agreed. The ruling ending the Muslim couple's union has stunned France and raised concerns the country's much-cherished secular values are losing ground to cultural traditions from its fast-growing immigrant communities. The decision also exposed the silent shame borne by some Muslim women who transgress long-held customs demanding proof of virginity on the wedding night. In its ruling, the court concluded the woman had misrepresented herself as a virgin and that, in this particular marriage, virginity was a prerequisite. But in treating the case as a breach of contract, the ruling was decried by critics who said it undermined decades of progress in women's rights. Marriage, they said, was reduced to the status of a commercial transaction in which women could be discarded by husbands claiming to have discovered hidden defects in them. The court decision is a real fatwa against the emancipation and liberty of women. We are returning to the past, said Urban Affairs Minister Fadela Amara, the daughter of immigrants from Muslim North Africa, using the Arabic term for a religious decree. The outcry has been unrelenting since word of the April 1 decision in the closed-door trial in Lille was made public last week by the daily newspaper Liberation. In its judgment, the tribunal said the 2006 marriage had been ended based on an error in the essential qualities of the bride, who had presented herself as single and chaste. Justice Minister Rachida Dati, whose parents also were born in North Africa, initially shrugged off the ruling - but the public clamor reached such a pitch that she asked the prosecutor's office this week to lodge an appeal. What began as a private matter concerns all the citizens of our country and notably women, a statement from her ministry said. The hitch is that both the young woman and the man at the center of the drama are opposed to an appeal, according to their lawyers. The names of the woman, a student in her 20s, and the man, an engineer in his 30s, have not been disclosed. The young woman's lawyer, Charles-Edouard Mauger, said she was distraught by the dragging out of the humiliating case. In an interview on Europe 1 radio, he quoted her as saying: I don't know who's trying to think in my place. I didn't ask for anything. ... I wasn't the one who asked for the media attention, for people to talk about it, and for this to last so long. The issue is particularly distressing for France because the government has fought to maintain strong secular traditions as demographics change. An estimated 5 million Muslims live in the country of 64 million, the largest Muslim population in Western Europe. France passed a law in 2004 banning Muslim headscarves and other ostentatious religious signs from classrooms, a move that caused an uproar in the Muslim world. Now, critics contend another law on the books is being used to effectively condone the custom requiring a woman to enter marriage as a virgin, and prove it with bloodstained sheets on her wedding night. Article 180 of the Civil Code states that when a couple enters into a marriage, if the essential qualities of a spouse are misrepresented, then the other spouse can seek the nullity of the marriage. Past examples of marriages that were annulled include a husband found to be impotent and a wife who was a prostitute, according to attorney Xavier Labbee. Ironically, Article 180 also guards against forced marriages. Labbee, the lawyer for the bridegroom in question, says it was not the young woman's virginity that was at issue. The question is not one of virginity. The question is one of lying, he told The Associated Press. In the ruling, there is no word 'Muslim,' there is no word 'religion,' there is no word 'custom.' And if one speaks of virginity it is with the term 'a lie. Labbee said both the man and the woman understand that annulling the marriage is preferable to divorce because it wipes the slate clean (of) what you want to forget, but divorce wipes away nothing. Although divorced Muslim women are allowed to remarry, they are expected to be forthcoming with their new husband about the previous marriage, and divorce can carry a cultural stigma for women. Indeed, the court ruling states that the woman acquiesced to the demand for an annulment based on a lie concerning her virginity. One can deduce that this quality (virginity) was seen by her as an essential quality that was decisive in the man's decision to marry, the ruling said. I get many one finger salutes while driving on US highways (and one guy also tried to run me off the road) and I usually respond by smiling and waving peace signs. I am sure these are not related to my driving habits or driving vehicle (a Toyota Prius). It may have to do with the bumper stickers: End the war on Iraq, Free Palestine, Stop US Aid to Israel, Support the Troops: bring them home. I also get many peace signs, honks of approval and thumbs-up. But the vast majority of those who note the stickers are indifferent. The number of people who support ending wars, colonizations and occupations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine is in the billions on this small planet. These billions also favor fixing our destructive habits especially in poisoning our small planet. But as in all social movements those who believe are many, those who act are few (I got the honor to interact with hundreds of such activists at the Green Party Convention in Chicago where I was invited to speak on the Nakba). Such activists occasionally get targeted and attacked by the ignorant, the misled, and the implanted agents who sow discord (e.g. Dr. Terri Ginsberg and Dr. Norman Finkelstein losing positions, Rachel Corrie losing her life etc.). But it is always inspiring to see those who keep going year after year doing great work. US Citizens are of course responsible for changing US policies; policies that support torture, warrent-less domestic spying, erosion of civil liberties, detention without legal process, etc. It is the responsibility of the Israeli public to challenge Israeli apartheid and war crimes. What is new is that Obama has planned to visit the West-Bank,as well, which is most disturbing for any fact-finding-visit because the West Bank is the real face of Israel (which explains why they build that wall.) in other words : discrimination , a Wall , apartheid ,land-grabbing, illegal settlements and occupation not to forget the 603 check-points between 247 dried-water-wells. It happened once to Jimmy Carter, who visited the West Bank , and look what happened to him !! Carter became an honest US politician.!! Like Saul who went to Damascus and became Paul !! he became an honest Jew, or otherwise known as a christian. And who knows ??, Obama might return to his Muslim roots, even. Allaah is Beautiful and Loves BeautyImaam ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ From ’Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood sallam said, “What if a man likes his clothes to look good and his shoes to look good?” He said, beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means denying the truth and looking down on people.” radiallaahu ’anhu said, commenting upon this hadeeth: Ibnul-Qayyim (d.751H) ‘‘The phrase about in the same hadeeth. It is included by way of generalization, meaning that beauty in all things is what is meant here. In Saheeh Muslim, it says: good.” In Sunanut-Tirmidhee it says: was reported that Abul-Ahwas al-Jashamee said: The Prophet wearing old, tattered clothes, and asked me, “Allaah loves to see the effects of His blessing on His slave.’’ [3] Itsallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam saw me“Do you have any wealth?” I said, “Yes.” He said,“What kind of wealth?” show the generous blessings that He has given you.” Allaah, may He be glorified, loves the effects of His blessings to His slave to be made manifest, for this is part of the beauty that He loves, and that is part of the gratitude for His blessings which forms an inner beauty (beauty of character). Allaah loves to see the external beauty of His slaves which reflects His blessings on them, and the inner beauty of their gratitude to Him for those blessings. Because He loves beauty, He sends down on His slaves clothes and adornments with which they may make their outward appearance beautiful and He gives them characters beautiful. Allaah says:taqwaa which makes their inner “O Children of Adam!We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc.) and as an adornment, and the raiment of righteousness, that is better.” And He says, speaking of the people of Paradise: “…and He gave them Nadrataan (a light of beauty) and joy. And their recompense shall be Paradise and silken garments, because they were patient.” Their faces will be made beautiful with the and their bodies with silken garments. Just as Allaah loves beauty in words, deeds, garments and outward appearance, so He hates ugliness in words, deeds, garments and outward appearance. He hates ugliness and its people, and loves beauty and its people. But two groups are misguided with regard to this issue: a group who say that everything that He has created is beautiful, so He loves all that He has created and we should love all that He has created and not hate anything. They say: whoever realizes that all that exists comes from Him will see that it is beautiful … these people have no sense of jealousy for the sake of Allaah or hatred and enmity for the sake of Allaah, or denouncing what is evil ( They regard the beauty of images, male or female, as being part of the beauty that Allaah loves, and seek to worship Allaah through immoral acts. Some of them may even go so far as to claim that the One Whom they worship is manifested or incarnated in those images. The second group, on the other hand, say that Allaah condemns the beauty of images, forms and “And when you look at them, their bodies please you…” “And how many a generation haveWe destroyed before them.Who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance?” In Saheeh Muslim it is reported that the Prophet not look at your outward appearance and your wealth, rather He looks at your hearts and deeds.” According to another hadeeth: extravagant, which applies to extravagance in clothing as well as in food and drink. In order to settle this dispute, we may say that beauty in clothing and outward appearance is of three types, one of which is commendable, one is blameworthy and one of which is neither. The kind of beauty which is to be commended is that which is done for the sake of Allaah, to help one to obey Allaah and fulfill His commands, such as when the Prophet himself look beautiful (i.e. handsome) when meeting the delegations that came to him. This is like wearing armour or battle-dress when fighting, or wearing silk and showing off (in front of the enemy). This is commendable because it is done to make the word of Allaah supreme and to support His religion and annoy His enemies. The blameworthy kind of beauty is that which is done for the sake of this world, for reasons of power, false pride and showing off, or to fulfill some (selfish) desires. This also includes cases where beauty is an end in itself for a person and is all he cares about. Many people have no other concern in life. As for the kind of beauty which is neither commendable nor blameworthy, it is that which has nothing to do with either of the two purposes mentioned above (i.e., it is neither for the sake of Allaah nor for the sake of worldly purposes). The hadeeth under discussion refers to two important principles, knowledge and behaviour. Allaah is to be
