Re: Bismillah [IslamCity] Out of 1000, 999 will go to hell ?
Dear Ahmed, Yes this is an authentic Hadeez and it is better to add a personal note in block Capitals stating that By Allah's grace many will be pardoned and taken to Jennath in order not to dishearten ummah. Laymen will think that what is the use if 999 out of 1000 is going to hell. Am I correct? Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 76 :: Hadith 536 Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, The first man to be called on the Day of Resurrection will be Adam who will be shown his offspring, and it will be said to them, 'This is your father, Adam.' Adam will say (responding to the call), 'Labbaik and Sa'daik' Then Allah will say (to Adam), 'Take out of your offspring, the people of Hell.' Adam will say, 'O Lord, how many should I take out?' Allah will say, 'Take out ninety-nine out of every hundred. They (the Prophet's companions) said, O Allah's Apostle! If ninety-nine out of every one hundred of us are taken away, what will remain out of us? He said, My followers in comparison to the other nations are like a white hair on a black ox. Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 60 :: Hadith 265 Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, On the day of Resurrection Allah will say, 'O Adam!' Adam will reply, 'Labbaik our Lord, and Sa'daik ' Then there will be a loud call (saying), Allah orders you to take from among your offspring a mission for the (Hell) Fire.' Adam will say, 'O Lord! Who are the mission for the (Hell) Fire?' Allah will say, 'Out of each thousand, take out 999.' At that time every pregnant female shall drop her load (have a miscarriage) and a child will have grey hair. And you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet not drunk, but severe will be the torment of Allah. (22.2) (When the Prophet mentioned this), the people were so distressed (and afraid) that their faces got changed (in color) whereupon the Prophet said, From Gog and Magog nine-hundred ninety-nine will be taken out and one from you. You Muslims (compared to the large number of other people) will be like a black hair on the side of a white ox, or a white hair on the side of a black ox, and I hope that you will be one-fourth of the people of Paradise. Then he said, (I hope that you will be) one-half of the people of Paradise. So we said, Allahu Akbar. Muslim :: Book 1 : Hadith 430 Abu Sa'id reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Allah, the High and Glorious, would say: O Adam I and he would say: At Thy service, at thy beck and call, O Lord, and the good is in Thy Hand. Allah would say: Bring forth the group of (the denizens of) Fire. He (Adam) would say: Who are the denizens of Hell? It would be said: They are out of every thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine. He (the Holy Prophet) said: It is at this juncture that every child would become white-haired and every pregnant woman would abort and you would see people in a state of intoxication, and they would not be in fact intoxicated but grievous will be the torment of Allah. He (the narrator) said: This had a very depressing effect upon them (upon the companions of the Holy Prophet) and they said: Messenger of Allah, who amongst us would be (that unfortunate) person (who would be doomed to Hell)? He said: Good tidings for you, Yajuj Majuj would be those thousands (who would be the denizens of Hell) and a person (selected for Paradise) would be amongst you. He (the narrator) further reported that he (the Messenger of Allah) again said: By Him in Whose Hand is thy life, I hope that you would constitute one-fourth of the inhabitants of Paradise. We extolled Allah and we glorified (Him). He (the Holy Prophet) again said: BY Him in Whose Hand is my life, I wish you would constitute one-third of the inhabitants of Paradise. We extolled Allah and Glorified (Him). He (the Holy Prophet) again said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I hope that you would constitute half of the inhabitants of Paradise. Your likeness among the people is the likeness of a white hair on the skin of a black ox or a strip on the foreleg of an ass. He said, `Subhan Allah (glory be to Allah),' or he said, `There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.' I almost decided to never narrate anything to anyone. I only said, Soon, you will

23rd February is World Chechnya Day. A day few are aware of and yet none should forget. Read more here World Chechnya Day is intended to commemorate the dignity and resiliance of a people who, against all odds, refused to be erased from existence. On 23 February 1944, Stalin ordered the deportation of the entire Chechen and Ingush population to Central Asia. More than half of the 500,000 people who were to be forcibly transported died in transit or in massacres committed by Soviet troops. Those who survived the journey were left facing starvation and disease in the harsh winters of Siberia and Central Asia. Within days an entire people had been erased from the land of their ancestors. Overnight Chechnya and Ingushetia were emptied of their native inhabitants, and every reference to Chechnya was removed from official maps, records and encyclopaedias. In 2004, sixty years after the event, the European Parliament passed a motion that recognised this catastrophe as Genocide. 23rd February is World Chechnya Day. Bismillah [IslamCity] Jehad and the truth - Book review by A. G. Noorani
“Azad gave some of his most eloquent depositions on jehad as Islamic ethics in the service of Congress’ anti-colonial politics. The Indian national struggle was a jehad because the British were waging a war to exterminate Muslims. If Muslims had any spark of faith left in them, they would befriend snakes and scorpions rather than make peace with the British government, he asserted. Referring to the Prophet’s constitution at Medina, in which Muslims and non-Muslims were described as one nation, Azad asked Muslims to perform their religious duty by uniting with Hindus.” BOOKS Jehad and the truth A.G. NOORANI A fascinating survey of the evolution of the concept of jehad. THE HINDU PHOTO ARCHIVES THE highest form of jehad is to speak the truth in the face of an unjust ruler.” This one saying of Prophet Muhammad suffices to demolish the myth about jehad, fostered, alike, by the fundamentalists and very many in the West and, not to overlook, in India. Ijtihad (reason) is one of the recognised sources of Islamic law, the sharia. Ijtihad is jehad of the mind. Jehad means exertion. Ayesha Jalal renders a service by her erudite study of jehad in Islam; the perversion of the concept by the ulema (clergy) in the service of rulers as they embarked on military campaigns of imperialist expansion, armed with fatwas (rulings) sanctioning them as jehad in the cause of Islam; the invocation of jehad in the struggle for freedom from colonial rule; and its cynical revival in our times by bodies such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Al Qaeda. The focus is on South Asia. The author, born in Pakistan, is the Mary Richardson Professor of History at Tufts University in the United States. She is a highly respected historian of South Asia. Unlike some expatriate scholars, including many from India, who act as apologists for their country, Ayesha Jalal rightly prides herself on her detachment and objectivity. It would, however, be unjust to her work to concentrate on her strictures on the Lashkar and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and neglect her thesis, which constitutes its core. It was in the desire to gain a deep understanding of religion as faith that she launched her research for the book: “My exploration of the literature on the subject immediately brought home to me the intrinsic connection between the concept of jehad as endeavour and the Muslim faith. Far from being a passive and mindless activity, submission (Islam) assumes dynamic effort and reasoned self-control against the personal inclinations and social tendencies preventing a believer from heeding God’s commands, and thereby destroying any internal or external sense of balance and proportion…. It is commonplace to assert that the sacred and the temporal in Islam are inextricably intertwined. However, the interplay of ethics and politics in the unfolding of Muslim history has not been subjected to critical scrutiny. One way of remedying that oversight is to train the spotlight on the much-contested idea of jehad and its practice. To what extent was a concept that is at the heart of Islamic ethics transformed in shifting historical contexts as a consequence of temporal imperatives?” The author discusses jehad in pre-colonial South Asia: the jehad waged by Sayyid Ahmad of Rai Bareilly (1786–1831), jehad in colonial India and as anti-colonial nationalism. The last chapter is on the subversion of the concept as a justification for terrorism. With her familiarity with the primary sources in Urdu, she brings to life the debates conducted by the adherents and the critics. Particularly useful for the English reader is her discussion of Sayyid Ahmed, who fell in battle at Balakot, about 18 miles (29 kilometres) from Manshera in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan. Among the first militant groups that surfaced in Kashmir in 1989 was Operation Balakot of Azan Inquilabi. Such was the hold that Sayyid Ahmed’s example had come to acquire over the minds of the jehad-prone. It is, however, to the very first chapter, “Jihad as Ethics, Jihad as War”, that the reader must pay particular attention. Even in the early years of Islam, “some Muslims questioned the application of the concept of jehad to wars fought by temporal rulers that had nothing to do with struggle for the cause of God. One popular tradition justified the reservation. Upon returning from one of the early wars in defence of the newly established community, the Prophet Muhammad is said to have told his companions that they had come back from waging jehad al-asghar, or the lesser war, to fight the jehad al-akbar, or the greater war against those base inner forces which prevent man from becoming human in accordance with his primordial and God-given nature. This tradition was not included in any of the authoritative collections of hadith during the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphates, an omission that in itself reveals the mindset of the compilers

5. Chapter: On Watchfulness Allah Almighty says, He who sees you stand up to pray and your movements with those who prostrate, (W26:217-218; H26:219-220) and the Almighty says, He is with you wherever you are. (57:4) The Almighty says, Allah Him from whom nothing is hidden, either on earth or in heaven. (W3:5; H3:6) The Almighty says, Your Lord is always lying in wait. (89:14). The Almighty says, (Allah) knows the eyes' deceit and people's breasts conceal. (40:19) 60. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab said, One day while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), there appeared before us a man whose clothes were exceedingly white and whose hair was exceedingly black. No trace of travel could be seen on him and none of us knew him. He walked up and sat down by the Prophet. Resting his knees against his and placing the palms of his hands on his thighs, he said, 'O Muhammad! Tell me about Islam.' The Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), said, 'Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to perform the prayers, to pay the zakat, to fast in Ramadan and to make the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so.' He said, 'You have spoken the truth,' and we amazed at him asking him and then saying that he had spoken the truth. He said, 'Then tell me about belief.' He said, 'It is to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in the decree, both its good and its evil.' He said, 'You have spoken the truth.' He said, 'Then tell me about ihsan.' He said, 'It is to worship Allah as though you could see Him for while you do not see Him, He sees you.' He said, 'Then tell me about the Hour.' He said, 'The one asked about it knows no more about it than the asker.' He said, 'Then tell me about its signs.' He said, 'That a slavegirl will give birth to her mistress and that you will see barefooted, destitute herdsmen competing in constructing lofty buildings.' Then he left but I stayed on a while. Then the Prophet said, ''Umar, do you know who the questioner was?' I said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'It was Jibril who came to teach you your religion.' [Muslim]

Bismillah [IslamCity] 7 years on, 50,000 riot victims still in relief camps in Gujarat
This hostile approach of the state government towards the Muslim community is keeping the situation from getting completely normal. Had these things been done, people would have forgot their wounds 7 years on, 50,000 riot victims still in relief camps in Gujarat Submitted by admin4 on 16 February 2009 - 11:39pm. http://www.twocircles.net/2009feb16/7_years_50_000_riot_victims_still_relief_camps_gujarat.html By Mumtaz Alam Falahi, TwoCircles.net, Even seven years after Gujarat 2002 pogrom, 50,000 people are in relief camps, state government is sitting on its share of compensation package, 650 religious places are awaiting restoration; so situation is far away from being completely normal, says Ahmedabad resident and director of Islami Relief Committee of Gujarat in an interview with Mumtaz Alam Falahi of TwoCircles.net. How do you recall the Gujarat 2002 pogrom today after seven years? By just recalling what happened in the communal riots in those days in Gujarat I get frightened. I and my Gandhian friends were very anxious. We wanted to help people but were helpless. Those were horrific days of lawlessness and mayhem – a nightmare better to forget. In Juhapura area in Ahmedabad 17 Muslims were killed and about 500 houses of Muslims were put on fire. A non-Muslim was also killed in that area. Juhapura is described as a Muslim ghetto and a mini Pakistan, yet the destruction there was one-sided. The pogrom had vertically divided the society on communal lines. How are the present relations between Hindus and Muslims? Situation is getting normal as in some matters human beings are bound to have interaction with each other. But what should have been done for complete normalization of the situation has not yet been done. Of 1.5 lakh people uprooted during the pogrom, around two-third are still not in position to return to their homes. About 50,000 people are still living in relief camps and there has been no proper arrangement for their rehabilitation. About 650 religious places were destroyed or desecrated but the government has not done anything to restore them. The central government has given its share of the compensation package for the riot victims but the state government is silent about its share. This hostile approach of the state government towards the Muslim community is keeping the situation from getting completely normal. Had these things been done, people would have forgot their wounds. How common Hindus and common Muslims take each other in common places like in buses or trains? Not much hostile situation there. But fear still persists. Hindus and Muslims do not prefer to send their children in schools in each other’s areas. But Muslims have little options as they are forced to go to schools in Hindu areas. They fear while sending their girls to schools and colleges in those areas. Today the gap created between the two communities by the pogrom has got a little narrowed but the situation cannot be said completely normal. It is said that most of those arrested in connection with Godhra train burning and POTA imposed on them are innocents but real perpetrators of the riot are still at large. Godhra train burning incident was projected as a conspiracy and scores of Muslims were arrested only to justify the pogrom that followed the incident. Our Cell for Legal Help Guidance, other NGOs, Human Rights Commission and Minority Commission have worked to prove that what was told by the government about Godhra train fire was not true. And we are hopeful that all the accused of the incident will be proved innocent and will be acquitted. On the other hand the policemen and politicians who were involved in the riot are being nabbed and sent to jail. But the state government is creating hurdles. First they made perpetrators as public prosecutors and helped the guilty and now when Supreme Court-appointed SIT wants to arrest some of the perpetrators the government is shielding them. What are the Islami Relief Committee and other organizations doing for the families of Godhra train accused and others languishing in jail? We are helping the families of Godhra train accused. We have also secured bail for 30-40 accused. We represented them in POTA Review Committee. Other groups like Action Aid are also coming up to help. How much hopeful are you about justice? Given the situation in India we cannot be fully sure of justice. We are making our best efforts and we have got some favorable verdicts from the Supreme Court. But even if, for example, the Godhra accused get acquittal after spending 7-8 years in jail, we cannot say they got justice. Because there is no system for the rehabilitation of those people who lost everything – families, homes and source of livelihood. Bismillah [IslamCity] The Wounds of Gaza - Dr Swee Ang, Dr Ghassan Abu Sittah
Dr Ang Swee Chai is the author of the famous work FROM BEIRUT TO JERUSALEM which is an Eye Witness account to SABRA-SHATILA MASSACRE - Abhiyya The Wounds of Gaza Two Surgeons from the UK, Dr Ghassan Abu Sittah and Dr Swee Ang, managed to get into Gaza during the Israeli invasion. Here they describe their experiences, share their views, and conclude that the people of Gaza are extremely vulnerable and defenseless in the event of another attack. http://www.thelancetglobalhealthnetwork.com/archives/608 The wounds of Gaza are deep and multi-layered. Are we talking about the Khan Younis massacre of 5,000 in 1956 or the execution of 35,000 prisoners of war by Israel in 1967? Yet more wounds of the First Intifada, when civil disobedience by an occupied people against the occupiers resulted in massive wounded and hundreds dead? We also cannot discount the 5,420 wounded in southern Gaza alone since 2000. Hence what we are referring to below are only that of the invasion as of 27 December 2008, Over the period of 27 December 2008 to the ceasefire of 18 Jan 2009, it was estimated that a million and a half tons of explosives were dropped on Gaza Strip. Gaza is 25 miles by 5 miles and home to 1.5 million people. This makes it the most crowded area in the whole world. Prior to this Gaza has been completely blockaded and starved for 50 days. In fact since the Palestinian election Gaza has been under total or partial blockade for several years. On the first day of the invasion, 250 persons were killed. Every single police station in Gaza was bombed killing large numbers of police officers. Having wiped out the police force attention was turned to non government targets. Gaza was bombed from the air by F16 and Apache helicopters, shelled from the sea by Israeli gunboats and from the land by tank artillery. Many schools were reduced to rubble, including the American School of Gaza, 40 mosques, hospitals, UN buildings, and of course 21,000 homes, 4,000 of which were demolished completely. It is estimated that 100,000 people are now homeless. Israeli weapons The weapons used apart from conventional bombs and high explosives also include unconventional weapons of which at least 4 categories could be identified. Phosphorus Shells and bombs The bombs dropped were described by eye witnesses as exploding at high altitude scattering a large canopy of phosphorus bomblets which cover a large area. During the land invasion, eyewitnesses describe the tanks shelling into homes first with a conventional shell. Once the walls are destroyed, a second shell - a phosphorus shell is then shot into the homes. Used in this manner the phosphorus explodes and burns the families and the homes. Many charred bodies were found among burning phosphorus particles. One area of concern is the phosphorus seems to be in a special stabilizing agent. This results in the phosphorus being more stable and not completely burning out. Residues still cover the fields, playground and compounds. They ignite when picked up by curious kids, or produce fumes when farmers return to water their fields. One returning farming family on watering their field met with clouds of fumes producing epistaxis. Thus the phosphorus residues probably treated with a stabilizer also act as anti-personnel weapons against children and make the return to normal life difficult without certain hazards. Surgeons from hospitals are also reporting cases where after primary laparotomy for relatively small wounds with minimal contamination find on second look laparotomy increasing areas of tissue necrosis at about 3 days. Patients then become gravely ill and by about 10 days those patients needing a third relook encounter massive liver necrosis. This may or may not be accompanied by generalized bleeding , kidney failure and heart failure and death. Although acidosis, liver necrosis and sudden cardiac arrest due to hypocalcemia are known to be a complication of white phosphorus it is not possible to attribute these complications as being due to phosphorus alone. There is real urgency to analyze and identify the real nature of this modified phosphorus as to its long term effect on the people of Gaza. There is also urgency in collecting and disposing of the phosphorus residues littering the entire Gaza Strip. As they give off toxic fumes when coming into contact with water, once the rain falls the whole area would be polluted with acid phosphorus fumes. Children should be warned not to handle and play with these phosphorus residues. Heavy Bombs The use of DIME (dense inert material explosives) were evident, though it is unsure whether depleted uranium were used in the south. In the civilian areas, surviving patients were found to have limbs truncated by DIME, since the stumps apart from being characteristically cut off in guillotine fashion also fail to bleed. Bomb casing and shrapnel are extremely heavy. Fuel Air

Bismillah [IslamCity] Swat And Shariah : What Are The Issues ?
Editorial Swat And Shariah : What Are The Issues ? International press has repored that hundreds of supporters participated in a peace march in Pakistan's Swat valley yesterday aimed at convincing Taliban militants to lay down their weapons under a pact with the government. Nato and Britain raised concerns about the deal, which imposes Islamic law and suspends a military offensive in the one-time tourist haven that is now largely under militant control. Nato, which has 55,000 troops across the border in Afghanistan, warned the deal risked giving extremists a safe haven. But the US reacted cautiously, with the State Department saying it was still trying to understand Pakistan's strategy. The regional government in Pakistan's northwest struck the deal Monday with Sufi Muhammad, an aging pro-Taliban Alim who is father-in-law to Swat Taliban leader Maulana Fazlullah. Sufi Muhammad agreed to talk to Fazlullah in return for the pledge to introduce Islamic law in the valley, where militants have routed the police, beheaded political opponents and burned scores of schools for girls.Muhammad and his supporters, carrying black and white flags representing the Taliban and peace, marched through Swat's main city of Mingora as jubilant residents chanted God is great! We want peace!. Pakistani officials insist the deal is not a concession, but rather that it addresses the long-standing demands of residents in Swat and surrounding areas for a more efficient justice system. The main changes involve already existing regulations that were never enforced, for instance, allowing religious scholars to advise judges, officials said. There are no publicized plans to ban girls from schooling, as hardline Taliban would want.We will not introduce the Taliban system here, Bashir Bilour, a senior provincial government leader, said yesterday. This is a system about justice. It is for producing swift justice.Federal Information Minister Sherry Rehman has said President Asif Ali Zardari would not sign off on the agreement until peace is restored in the region. The Swat Taliban, meanwhile, have said they will stop fighting once Islamic law is in place and are already observing a cease-fire.When pressed by reporters at the State Department on Tuesday spokesman Gordon Duguid said the US was seeking a fuller explanation from Pakistan. We have no special comment about the agreement. Pakistan has done it under the pressure of circumstances because of military pressure both from the east and west of Pakistan from India and Afganistan, apart from internal insurgency in some parts. We have some comment about Shariah application. What these Talibans or their supporters mean by Shariah is a big question.Pakistan is an Islamic republic, it has more or less revised all laws in line with Islamic law.It has also enacted Hadood laws where hadd is applicable.Yes there are implementation problems. Moreover Islamic law is not about Hadood or punishments only.Islamic law is much more concerned with economics, finance, banking, insurance, market supervision , monetary policy and fiscal policy.Islamic law is also about family laws, about marriage, divorce and inheritance , about gift, waqf, about constitutional principles, commercial or business laws. Islam, s emphisis is more on values and Akhlaq than on punishments or laws. These Talibans, most of them have very narrow view of Islam. They lack education.Their education is only old text books prepared by scholars of the past. They never updated their courses. We have serious concern that they are damaging image of Islam. Some Western press is also highliting , partially to discredit Islam and Islamists. We ask the senior Ulama of Pakistan and the Muslim world to look to this and help solve this recurring problem. .
Bismillah [IslamCity] Arab writers
If good befalls you, it grieves them; but if some misfortune overtakes you, they rejoice at it. But if ye are constant and do right, not the least harm will their cunning do to you; for Allah Compasses round about all that they do Surat A'ali Imran, (the House of Imran), III, v. 119 I call on the Israeli army to crush these Palestinian terrorists who are at Iran's beck and call; chase the rebels of Hamas, annihilate its lunatics and demented leaders who are disguised as men of faith, crush them and exterminate them and teach them a lesson which they will never forget just as you taught the terrorist Hizbullah a harsh lesson in 2006 .So deliver Gaza from the grip of Hamas. These Palestinians, wherever they go, they take with them terror, corruption, trouble, tumult and ingratitude ..! These words were not written by Israeli propagandists or Zionist apologists seeking to justify the recent Israeli blitzkrieg in Gaza. They are actually the words of a Kuwaiti Arab columnist who has apparently sold his soul to the devil. I say sold his soul to the devil because when a human being transforms himself into a willful liar in the service of evil, that person, knowingly or unknowingly, loses his morality and eventually loses his humanity as well. I don't know for sure what makes such people undergo such a diabolical metamorphosis. It could be mental weakness, or a certain psychological defect that they have failed to overcome, or even a mental dysfunction. However, treachery always goes hand in hand with moral depravity and lack of self-esteem. Needless to say, a writer, or even a commoner, who gleefully rejoices over the extermination of children, as we saw recently in Gaza, has obviously banished himself from the realm of humanity. Unfortunately, there is a number of so-called Arab writers who seem to have devoted themselves to besmirching and vilifying Hamas and other Arab resistance movements, as if the right thing to do were to succumb to Zionism, the Nazi-like movement that has been murdering Palestinians, destroying their homes, stealing their land and dispersing them to the four winds. Indeed, instead of standing up for justice and identifying with the oppressed against the oppressor, as every noble human being should do, these wicked mercenaries have decided to curry favor with the Nazis of our time probably in the hope of receiving a certificate of good conduct or a citation of honor from Zionist entity. Or perhaps they hope that international Zionist circles might press award-granting bodies in the West to reward them for their treasonous behavior. Well, they have. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has already prepared a list of honor of Zionized Arab writers who are doing a marvelous job on Israel's behalf. Just watch the Zionist media these days and see how often these lowly traitors are quoted by Zionist spinners and hasbara operatives. This shows beyond doubt that these gullible little men have fully swallowed up the Zionist narrative, bait, hook, line and sinker. I understand that many of these writers are shockingly ignorant of the facts. However, there are others who know the facts very well but lack the intellectual honesty and moral rectitude to stand up for the truth. A few years ago, one of these so-called writers based in London was quoted heavily by much of the American and Israeli media when he claimed that not all Muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims. Well, I don't know what was this so-called writer smoking or drinking when he uttered this colossal mendacity, a canard that has more to do with mental diarrhea than with any genuine intellectual activity. Didn't that little man learn in school in Saudi Arabia that defending one's home, country and honor is a duty binding on all Muslims? Couldn't he bring himself to understand that a foreign occupation is actually an act of rape, and that just as rape victims have every right to fight and resist their attackers, so do people languishing under occupation have a similar right to resist their occupiers, oppressors and tormentors? Did he forget that even in America, his real god, or more correctly the god of his god, they say give me freedom or give me death. More to the point, couldn't that weak-minded charlatan realize that the invasion, occupation and destruction of sovereign nations by the US, along with the murder of hundreds of thousands of people, represented and embodied terror in its ugliest forms? I understand that certain Arabs dislike Hamas because of ideological hostility. However, I never thought in my life that an Arab and Muslim bearing the name of Abdullah or Abdul Rahman would urge Israel to annihilate Palestinians and express the wish he was an Israeli soldier slaughtering Palestinian and Lebanese children. Well, moral depravity, it seems, has no limits. I do know that the vast majority of Arabs

Bismillah [IslamCity] Turkey blasts Israel's truce violation
Turkey blasts Israel's truce violation Sun, 25 Jan 2009 20:39:32 GMT http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=83699amp;sectionid=351020204 http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=83699sectionid=351020204 Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Israel violated a 6-month truce with Hamas. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has slammed Israel for 'failing to abide' by the Gaza cease-fire ahead of its war on the strip. Hamas, without a doubt, erred by firing rockets at Israel, but we must consider that Hamas fully abided by the truce agreement with Israel for six months, even though Israel did not, Erdogan told Al-Hayat on Sunday. Israel unleashed Operation Cast Lead on the Gaza Strip on December 27, allegedly to put an end to rocket attacks against southern Israeli towns. At least 1,330 Palestinians died during the offensive, while some 5,450 others were reported wounded. Hamas says several of its senior officials, including late interior minister Saeed Siyam, were killed by Israeli forces. In his interview with the London-based newspaper, Erdogan said that Turkey would send monitors to Gaza if they are required to stabilize the truce between Hamas and Israel. He urged respect for the Palestinian Authority elections and called on Hamas to playits proper role in the political arena of Palestine. Bismillah [IslamCity] RIYADHU-US-SALEHEEN -Chap:6 # 69-70-73
6. Chapter: On Fearful Awareness of Allah (Taqwa) Allah Almighty says, O you who believe, have taqwa of Allah with the taqwa due to Him, (3:102) and the Almighty says, Have taqwa of Allah as much as you are able to. (64:16) This verse clarifies what is meant by the first verse. Allah Almighty says, O you who believe! Have taqwa of Allah, and speak words which hit the mark. (33:70) The verses which command taqwa of Allah are many and well-known. Allah Almighty says, Whoever has taqwa of Allah, He will give him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect. (65:2-3) The Almighty says, If you have taqwa of Allah, He will you discrimination and erase your bad actions from you and forgive you. Allah's favour is indeed immense. (8:29) 69. Abu Hurayra said, It was asked, 'Messenger of Allah, who is the noblest of people?' He replied, 'The one with the most fear of Allah.' They said, 'This is not what we meant.' He said, 'Yusuf, the Prophet of Allah, son of a Prophet of Allah, son of a Prophet of Allah, son of the Friend of Allah.' They said, 'This is not what we meant either.' He said, 'Is it then about the Arabs that you asking? The best of them in the Time of Ignorance is the best of them in Islam when they have knowledge (of the deen).' [Agreed upon] 70. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Prophet, (PBUH), said, This world is green and sweet. Allah has put you in charge of it so be careful how you behave. Beware of this world and beware of women. The first trouble experienced by the Tribe of Israel was on account of women. [Muslim] 73. Abu Umama Sudayy ibn 'Ajlan al-Bahili said, I heard the Messenger of Allah, (PBUH), speaking in the Hajj of Farewell. He said, 'Fear Allah, pray your five prayers, fast your month, pay the zakat on your property and obey your leaders and you will enter Jannah of your Lord. [at-Tirmidhi]
Bismillah [IslamCity] Darfur war crimes indictment threatens to split international community
Darfur war crimes indictment threatens to split international community Judges in The Hague prepare to indict Omar al-Bashir, Sudan's president – putting western governments on collision course with Africa, China and Russia Simon Tisdall Monday 16 February 2009 17.02 GMT Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, looks certain to be charged with war crimes. Photograph: Mohamed Nureldin Abdalla/Reuters Britain, France and the US are up against a united front of African and Muslim countries, backed by China and Russia, over the imminent indictment of Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, for war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Darfur. Diplomatic sources said yesterday that a pre-trial panel of three judges at the international criminal court (ICC) in The Hague was expected to authorise an arrest warrant within the next two weeks. Bashir will be the first head of state to be charged by the ICC since it was founded in 2002. The court has kept its cards very close to its chest. But that's the expectation, a western diplomat said. You prepare for all eventualities and an indictment is the most difficult. But the search for peace and justice cannot be precluded by concerns over what might happen. The African Union (AU), the Arab League, the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, and an influential UN bloc of developing nations known as the Group of 77 and China have all backed Sudan's calls for the ICC prosecution to be dropped, with some officials arguing that it smacks of white man's justice. They say an attempt to arrest Bashir could destabilise Sudan and endanger international aid and peacekeeping missions. An estimated 200,000 people have died and 2.7 million have been displaced since fighting erupted in Darfur in 2003. The UN has more than 20,000 personnel in Sudan, including two peacekeeping missions, while hundreds of NGOs and aid agencies operate there. Sudanese officials say they cannot be held responsible if the UN or foreign organisations become the focus of public outrage over an indictment. Western diplomats say any decision to freeze or drop the case could destroy the credibility of the ICC and force the resignation of chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo. Yet a decision to go ahead could permanently alienate African and other countries that have signed the ICC treaty. Britain, France and the US say they are not alone is backing the ICC process. The Latin American countries, Japan, other European countries, they all understand and support what we are doing, one official said. In a unanimous statement issued at this month's summit in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, the AU expressed deep concern at the impending indictment, warning it could seriously undermine efforts to end the Darfur conflict. If the court is allowed to go ahead, it will cause a lot of trouble for the whole Horn of Africa region. Sudan is big. It touches everyone, said a senior diplomat from one of Sudan's neighbours. British and French officials and diplomats are adamant that they will not support attempts to freeze the ICC process under a UN security council procedure known as an Article 16 deferral. At this moment we're not ready to support an initiative that would implement Article 16, said Jean-Pierre Lacroix, France's deputy UN ambassador. Lord Malloch-Brown, Britain's minister for Africa, said last week that a deferral was completely unlikely. The US is not a signatory to the ICC's founding treaty but has strongly supported the case against Bashir. It has backed two previous ICC indictments of Sudanese officials over Darfur, including charges of war crimes brought against Ahmad Muhammad Harun, a former minister of state for the interior. Neither suspect has been handed over. The Obama administration has taken a tougher line on Sudan than its predecessors. Susan Rice, the new US ambassador to the UN, condemned the ongoing genocide in Darfur in her first press conference, and said efforts to support Unamid, the UN's military mission in Darfur, were a top priority. Obviously we will continue to look at what is necessary to deal with any obstruction, continued violence or reprisals that may occur or may emanate as a result of a potential indictment, she said. She drew attention to new fighting around Muhajiriya, in southern Darfur, between government and rebel forces. UN officials and rebel spokesmen have suggested the surge in violence is part of the government's response to the looming Bashir indictment. In a sign of growing unease over the possible fallout, Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary general, said he had personally urged Bashir to eschew reprisals when they met at the AU summit. Whatever the ICC decision may be, it will be very important for President Bashir and the Sudanese government to react very responsibly and ensure the safety and security of UN peacekeepers, protect human rights ... and faithfully
